Fandom: Avengers (2012) Pairing: None Length: ~22k Author on LJ: unsure Author Website: AO3 DashWhy this must be read: In the interest of full disclosure, I do love me some good kidfic. Both the age-regressed type and the characters-having-a-kid type. That said, imho, good kidfic is hard to do. This is a really perfect example of the genre, not just because Tony-as-kid is so excellently drawn, but because of its exploration of the repercussions of his regression on those around him. And it gives amazing JARVIS. ( Excerpt )A.I.s and Lullabies

After yesterday's string of depressing stories, I figured we needed a little bit of fluff. Subject: Relaxation by IlloustriousTaco (G) Fandom: Rise of the Guardians Pairing: N/a Length: 560 words Author Website: AO3Why this must be read: Author Summary: Fluffy petting ficklet.
Prompt
An entirely smutless fluff ficlet here, North helps groom Bunny. It's warm and feel-good, and shows a nicer side of their friendship than just the rivalry. ^_^ Relaxation by IlloustriousTaco (G)

Fandom: due SouthPairing: Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski/Ray VecchioLength: 764 words Author on LJ: teaphile Author Website: unknown
Why this must be read: Because it's just so bleeding awesome. Without going into any spoilery detail, it's a complete fix for all of those confusing aspects of dS which make no sense. It's also sweet, and a little bit sad and funny at the same time. I just want to smoosh all three of the boys in a big hug.http://teaphile.dreamwidth.org/23240.html

Fandom: STARSKY & HUTCH Pairing: mostly gen, with some implied Starsky/Hutch Length: about 2500 words Why this must be read: Because Vedette Ciel’s writing is simply beautiful, and her story perfectly captures the essence of ‘me and thee.’
From "Closer":
So he sat. Sat and drank and drank and sat more tipped over. Yeah, he should have that gun checked. Should take it in to the station for a better one. Damn thing’s too heavy anyway. Then again he liked that positive plank of metal, it balanced well, and when he was at his finest, he was dangerous. Let’s face the fact that that is what matters. Balance, coordination, speed. Him and what he packs, it was a combination. It was what made him on the street. That, and, of course. That other perfect thing.

Fandom: THE SENTINEL Pairing: Jim/Blair Length: 15,477 words Author on LJ: fluterbevAuthor Website: AO3Why this must be read: Author's Summary: Several months ago, Jim rejected a guide called Blair Sandburg as a potential bond-mate. Now Blair is bonded to someone else, but all is not well in his world.I'm always up for a great "Sentinels Are Known" 'verse fic; they're one of my Sentinel fic crack of choice in this fandom. However, it's always special to find one that stands above the rest, with a little something extra to offer. Take Two blends the old fanon tropes with great characterization and a fresh approach that is very invigorating. In this fic, society as a whole sees Sentinels and Guides as equal partners in the relationship. Yet, hold outs from the past still view Guides as second class citizens and unfortunately, Blair's new Sentinel is one of them. Fluterbev takes the two views and creates an interesting dichotomy that is the background for Jim's and Blair's new relationship. I also really enjoyed Fluter's characterization of Jim, in particular. He's understanding and caring without losing an ounce of his bad-assery. He gives Blair the space he needs to heal from an abusive relationship and is still there when Blair comes back from his healing. Take Two

Fandom: THE SENTINEL Pairing: pre-Jim/Blair Length: ~17,000 words Author on LJ: snycockAuthor Website: AO3Why this must be read: Author's Summary : Set in the American West in the 1860's, this is the story of how Blair Sandburg became a Pony Express rider, and met his destiny along the way.I adore a great historical AU, and this one fits the bill beautifully. Rich in detail, the reader is smack dab in the middle of an Old West town and a Pony Express way station. We feel the power of Blair's horse and smell the smoke of the fire that set Blair on his path. Action flows smoothly from scenario to scenario, from building of Blair's background to the foundations of his relationship with Jim and the Sentinel addition to the story. While the ending does leave a LOT of room for future stories, the main point of getting Blair established in the Pony Express and in his new life is accomplished with aplomb. I thoroughly enjoyed this AU, and hope the author decides to add more to the world. Song of the Rolling Earth

Subject: Of Heart(h) and Home by Scarecrowqueen (Explicit) Fandom: Rise of the Guardians Pairing: Jack/Bunny Length: 14,279 words (6 chapters) Author Website: AO3Why this must be read: Author Summary: Aster blinked. Then blinked again. A third blink however, did nothing to dispel the dish-washing mirage that had taken up residence in his kitchen. He was tempted to back out and try opening the door again to see if that worked when the mirage turned around and smile a brilliant ivory smile. In case you needed another pick-me-up after yesterday's dreary offerings, here's a beautiful Jackrabbit fic. Jack inadvertently courts Bunny when he helps to clean his house during the Easter ramp-up. This's a bit of a stealth 5-and-1 story, as Scarecrowqueen describes it elsewhere as "Five time Jack gatecrashed Aster's burrow and made himself useful, and One time he didn't have to leave." Even if you aren't into Jackrabbit, read it for the image of Jack in an apron doing air guitar. The author Scarecrowqueen is part of the AO3 RotG group affectionately referred to as the Evil Authors Club (along with Kayasurin, Nike, IlloustriousTaco, and CleverCorgi, most of whom I believe I've already recced at least once), but this work is pretty opposite of evil. :) Of Heart(h) and Home by Scarecrowqueen (Explicit)
