Fandom: FARSCAPE
Pairing: None, Noranti-Centered Gen
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: KodiakkeMax's FictionWhy this must be read: One of the wonderful things about Farscape fandom and the talented writers we have in it is that two of them can take very similar ideas and go in completely different directions with them. Having given you Anna S.'s odd-but-on-the-whole-sympathetic-and-identifiable Noranti, I now give you KodiakkeMax's Noranti, who is something entirely other.
As KodiakkeMax is in the running for being rec'd on crack_van for Farscape
more times than any other author, I won't bore you with how she gets into the head of difficult characters, has a crisp involving prose style, or is just plain superhumanly good at sucking you in with her vivid depictions. Instead I will say this: close your eyes and try to imagine what is going on in Granny's head; how she perceives the world, and why she acts the way she does. Now realize that nothing you have imagined is
close to how utterly
alien this Noranti is, twisting the complex relationships aboard Season 4's Moya into a metaphor that is both obvious and unsettling.
( The meat was tender, so tender it had fallen from the bone. )Go, read, review, and see what the world tastes like with three eyes.
