Besides a sad lack of slash altogether in this fandom, femslash is even rarer. maybedarkpink has a gorgeous style of writing, the ability to pack a punch with few words. This story picks up right after one of the many slashy scenes from the show and digs into Mac's thoughts brilliantly. We need more of this, people!

While Jenn has many Voyager fics I'd like to have recced this one won out becuase it is a lovely little bit of smut with a truly excellent Tom Paris voice.


It would be bad tactics to announce my presence--that would give her time to wonder why on earth I was dithering down here when I could be doing something useful like--oh, recalibrating the new relays or, if she got creative, she'd put me on engineering duty and send me down to clean something out--maybe some secondary power nodes or gel packs--don't get me started on the nightmare that is cleaning gel packs.

Her staff, luckily, saw me and saw living hope. This could mean that there was light at the end of their shift.

I got up to the second level undetected and crept behind a console to check out what I'd be competing against in terms of attention. It wasn't promising.

Why this must be read: For me this is Lotr fic. I had read quite a lot of fic before I stumbled upon this series and I believed that I had read some good elf slash up to then. Well this story here changed all that. I discovered the wonder that was Eresse and her writing. The way she manipulates the written word and her descriptions of mundane things or people leave you with live technicolor impressions and the sex makes you weak *grins*. Yes, dammit, it's all about the sex with me or maybe not :) But it's not easy to find writing like Eresse's accompanied with sex that practically melts your screen (in this and her other stories). On the other hand, some people find writing that might even remotely sound like JRR Tolkien's boring, I do not. Manipulating the written word like that makes me sigh in bliss and read even more.

The Greenleaf and Imladris Series is big, I think that at some point I tried to put it all together and see how big it is and I sort of found out that it's probably bigger than LOTR itself. It starts slow and takes time, with the characterisation, the relationships and the details that follow canon very closely.
