Fandom: ANGEL Pairing: Lindsey/Oz Author on LJ: danawoodsAuthor Website: Broken SymmetryWhy this must be read:I'm going to rec another Dana Woods story because I admire this one so much. Lindsey/Oz is a rare pairing; I think I've only read a couple of other stories, and in them the guys meet on the road. That's what happens here, but this is so much more than roadtrip porn. Living with the wolfy side of Oz isn't sunshine and roses, and the brutal reality of life as a werewolf are undeniable in this story. Dana does know how to make it hurt so good. Slow Like Honey

Hi guys, sorry for the late start, but I promise to have a ton of yummy recs to make up for it. I tend to be a fan of unusual pairings, so be prepared for a wild ride! Fandom: STARGATE: SG-1 Pairing: Daniel/Teal'c Author Website: PerfidyWhy this must be read:This one's a little dark, but worth the read: He’s surprised to find out that Teal'c has a family. He can’t put the two different sides of the man together; how can the same man who took (killed) his wife be the same man who has a wife and a son? Who loves his wife and son?Threshold

Fandom: SMALLVILLE Pairing: Lucas/Kal Author on LJ: goddessleilaAuthor Website: Dream OnWhy this must be read: What a *great* title! And the story fulfills its promise too, with a sharp, sociopathic look at Clark on red kryptonite, mixing it up with Lucas Luthor, who's even more broken than Lex. And underneath it all, Sorrel weaves in these wonderful undercurrents of deep, repressed emotion. I really liked this one a lot. Junkyard Dogs

Fandom: STARGATE: SG-1 Pairing: Sam/Teal'c Author Website: Story found at Helio2Why this must be read:And to lighten the mood, something a little more playful and sweet. For most guys, it was something specific. Jonas Hansen, for instance, had loved her ass. Smacking it, massaging it, pinching it... whenever he could get his hands on her rear end, he was groping. Her high school boyfriends, every last two of them, had been obsessed with her breasts. Of course, that was typical of high school boys. They had just started to develop and, to be honest, she was preoccupied with them herself.Belly

Fandom: STARSKY AND HUTCH Pairing: Starsky/Hutch Author Website: http://meandthee.shahrazad.net/author.php?authorid=6Why this must be read:There is no kiss. There is no sex. Yet this has to be one of the hottest, most romantic Starsky and Hutch stories ever written. Once again, it's an Ellis Murdock story (boy she's good) that is classified as slash on one site, yet won a gen award on another. Join her as she goes star-gazing with the boys: "Hush," Hutch replied seriously, "I want to introduce you to Capella." He took a deep breath and prayed that Starsky would be able to do what he always did: grasp not only the surface significance, but also the deeper meaning too shy to leave that evanescent place where Truth resides. "It's not a single star you’re looking at there – it's a double; a binary system." "Coulda fooled me." "You wouldn't be able to see them as separate stars even if you were in the Lowell Observatory. They're almost identical in size, same type, color, and share too tight an orbit." There was a pause, then Starsky brought one arm down - first around Hutch's shoulders, then slipping it lower, until it eventually wormed its way comfortably around Hutch's waist. "Partners, huh?" he whispered. Capella

Fandom: BUFFY Pairing: Spike/Xander Author on LJ: _dellamoreAuthor Website: Playing DeadWhy this must be read:I can think of no better way to describe "Red Apple Falls" than to say it is a story of true-love, vampire style. The modifying addendum there isn't just to clarify that there's a vampire in this story, but to point out that intense love coming from a demon is going to inspire acts that are far more desperate than romantic. Make no mistake; this story is both beautifully told and aggressively dark. It's like finding a wished-for treasure and not being able to escape the curse that accompanies it. You'll be haunted. _dellamore has a stunning way with words: her prose is rich and resonant without ever feeling weighted down. You can read this story for the evocative imagery, for the shiver-inducing narrative, or for the ache of watching a passionate emotional bond gone terribly wrong. But do read this story. Please let the author know if you read and like the story. Red Apple Falls

Proving that just about everything in “The Sentinel” brings out the slash in its fans, here now is some heat inspired by “Storm Warnings,” one of the more ho-hum episodes of the series. Fandom: THE SENTINEL Pairing: Jim/Blair Author on LJ: unknown Author Website: The Forest – Lyrica’s Labyrinth, or look her up at 852 Prospect Why this must be read: The erotic mood in "Behind the Storm We Feel" is palpable, and it comes across as an electrical current that sizzles. Lyrica creates mood and intensity in a way that transports you directly into the story, capturing the pent up energy inside the lighthouse, and the wilderness of the storm surging and crashing into the island outside. Even better, she takes you into Jim’s thoughts in a way that rings absolutely true. Electricity crackles everywhere in this story. It’s in the way Jim and Blair circle around each other before they come together, and in the way the storm affects Jim’s senses, and Blair’s temperament. This is an atmospheric piece, but mostly, it’s about two guys who look, and look away…but don’t this time. ( Read more... )Behind the Storm We Feel

Fandom: ANGEL Pairing: references to past Angel/Oz Author on LJ: tesla321Author Website: Tesla's Fanfiction and LJ MemoriesWhy this must be read:This is another one of those gennish slash stories that I find appealing. Angel/Oz is a rare pairing; it could work, two quiet guys with so much going on beneath the surface, keeping one another company. I guess I consider Oz the little black dress of the BtV/Angel fandom--because he's rather an outsider, a lone wolf with his own agenda, he works well in many fandoms as a crossover character, although I think his characterization is hard to get right. This story works on more than one level: as a character study of future, post-series Oz; as an exploration of why someone might choose to withdraw to a peaceful life even though there are more worthy battles to be fought; as a melancholy look at the past. The setting of this story is so vivid that I can absolutely see Oz living this life. All Along The Watchtower

Fandom: THE WEST WING Pairing: CJ/Josh, CJ/Toby Author on LJ: thepurpleswitchAuthor Website: and chimerasWhy this must be read:Because this fic has just the right mixture of quiet desperation, angst and humour. Because it is wonderfully written and has fantastic characterisation all round, and because you can't describe CJ in just two words no matter how hard you try. Standing outside Leo's office, she contemplates Margaret.
And feels nothing.
Maybe she's lost her sex drive.
That makes her feel better. That can be funny. She smiles at Margaret.
'Hello? Manchester Airport? I arrived on a flight from LA four years ago and I lost my libido at your terminal.'
Margaret gives her a startled look and rushes her into the office.Versatile and Tempestuous
