Title: Ghost Town Pairing: None Author on LJ: stangevisitor7Author Website: Unknown Why This Must Be Read:Hello there ladies and gents. I apologise for the gap in posting; the past week has been a little bit crazy. This crossover day I have the pleasure of reccing a recently completed fic featuring the Seven, Vin's great-to-the-nth-power grandson, and the Winchester brothers. Yes, this is a Supernatural crossover. Set in modern times, the town of Four Corners - now deserted - is under threat from land developers. When demolition workers start telling wild stories of being sabotaged by ghosts, Sam and Dean make it their mission to send these ghosts to the great beyond. But of course our boys won't take that lying down... Ghost Town

Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE/TORCHWOOD Pairing: I don't want to spoil you, but this *is* Captain Jack we're talking about... Length: short but very, very satisfying Author on LJ: matociquala Why this must be read:I can't remember for the life of me how on earth I stumbled across this gem, but what a comedic gem it is! Surprisingly, there really aren't any time travel-related episodes in MFU when you think about all of the other outlandish plots (faking an alien invasion! dancing gorillas! exploding apples! reanimating Hitler!) that were actually filmed. matociquala brilliantly links the explosive action, impulsive humor and unorthodox heroics of the protagonists from both shows in this hilarious snippet. I seriously wish we could borrow the TARDIS to actually film this. The Cryptic Stranger Affair

Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE/HEROES Pairing: Napoleon/Illya Length: short but sweet Author on LJ: lynnmonsterWhy this must be read:I can't remember for the life of me how on earth I stumbled across this other gem, but I fell in love with it right away even though I've never seen Heroes. Both shows feature cosmopolitan adventurers fighting the good fight (or so they ultimately hope) against an expansive international threat, so it seems natural enough to unite the past, an older Illya and Napoleon, with the future saviors of the world. It's the perfect recipe for a first encounter between our spy guys and Hiro and Ando - sweet with a dash of secret agent and sci-fi spice, blended with a dollop of humor. H.U.N.C.L.E.

Fandom: THE X-FILES/X-MEN MOVIEVERSE Pairing: Mulder/Scully Length: 111K Author on LJ: minisinooAuthor Website: Author's Page at GossamerWhy this must be read:I love The X-Files and I love the X-men. It is a mystery to me why there aren't more cross-overs between these two fandoms since mutants are a recurring theme for The X-Files. The story begins in 1996 in San Diego, California. Our intrepid agents are investigating a mysterious incident of vandalism, involving "red beams" that multiple witnesses claim came out of a certain young man's eyes while he was attending his high school prom. Agent Mulder thinks this is an X-file. Agent Scully, well, you can imagine what Scully thinks. Minisinoo's excellent writing is spot-on for the voices of Charles Xavier, Jean Grey and Scott Summers, but this fic can be read and enjoyed even if you've never seen a single X-Men movie. This is the only XF fic Minisinoo has written but perhaps she can be coaxed into another cross-over. She is retiring from writing fanfiction. The links are to her live journal, as her website is currently down and in the process of being moved. Edit: the link has been changed as she is going to delete her website and her fic journal in June, 2010. I am posting this a day late due to being without internet access on the fifteenth. Fandom: BANDOM (My Chemical Romance) Pairing: Frank Iero/Gerard Way Length: ~16,000 words Author on LJ: cimnessAuthor Website: cimorene.netWhy this must be read:Continuing the bandom van's tour of sex-pollen/fuck-or-die stories, this is a gloriously porny story about Why We Don't Take Candy From Strange(r-than-usual) Fans. This story gives wonderfully in-character Gerard and Frank, complete with geekiness, bickering, and optional hygiene aversions. It combines the incredible hotness of these two guys going at it all night with the inevitable downsides of going at it all night because somebody got hit with the alien sex drugs. Fandom: SUPERNATURAL/A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS Pairing: Dean Winchester/Sam Winchester, the Baudelaire orphans (Violet, Klaus and Sunny) Length: 8,910 Author on LJ: guns_and_butterAuthor Website: LJ Why this must be read:I had no internet access on June 15th, Crack Van Collisions Day, so am posting my crossover rec now. Considering the disasters that occur wherever the Baudelaire orphans go, it’s no surprise they should attract the attention of our intrepid demon-hunters. Here’s the story of the Winchesters as it might have been told by Lemony Snicket instead of Eric Kripke. The author perfectly captures the narrative style of A Series of Unfortunate Events. In true L.S. fashion, this witty story does contain an element of genuine tragedy. If you are in the mood for a heartwarming tale about the thrilling adventures of two handsome and carefree brothers, I regret to inform you that you have made a most unfortunate miscalculation. This particular story documents the trials and tribulations of Sam and Dean Winchester, the simple fact of which is enough to make it one of the most unpleasant stories in all the world. Fandom: POPSLASH Pairing: Justin/Lance Length: 5,544 Author on LJ: sola_fiammaAuthor Website: http://www.geocities.com/sola_fiamma/Why this must be read: Lance has been turned into a frog and goes hotel hopping, trying to find his pop prince. This story offers a convincing alternative to the nsync creation myth, and is an excellent example of the ever so popular boybanders-turn-into-animals genre. ( Quote )The Frog Prince (Sort Of)

Title: That's Life, On Cars Pairing: Gen Length: 8,800 words Author on LJ: fiandyficAuthor Website: Fic MasterlistWhy this must be read: This story is written by two of my favourite Life on Mars writers and the summary reads thus; My name is Richard Hammond. I had an accident, and I woke up in 1973. Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time? Whatever's happened, it's like I've landed on a different planet. Now, maybe if I can work out the reason, Jeremy Clarkson will stop yelling in my head. This story is funny and twisted and very much in the tone of a slightly crackier version of Life on Mars. It cleverly weaves the two shows and it is fantastically written, with some truly stunning lines. ( Excerpt )That's Life, On Cars

Fandom: HARRY POTTER Pairing: Harry Potter/Severus Snape Length: ~ 104,000 words Author on LJ: thephoenixboyAuthor Website: The Tennis Court at the Other End of the UniverseWhy this must be read: I love this story for many reasons. The humor in it is great, the relationship between Harry (under an alias) and Snape is believable - as is Snape's reaction when he finds out who he is actually with. It has Aberforth Dumblebore in it - who has hilarious scenes with both Albus and Harry. Hermione who shows just how good of a friend she is -- and a wonderful clueless Ron who also shows his friendship. Ghost of a Memory
