Fandom: ANGEL
Pairing: Wesley/Lilah
Length: short
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] justhuman
Author Website: unknown
Why this must be read: Oh god, the fluff. I usually cannot stand fluff, but this story is sweet and funny and it just hits the spot. Wesley and Lilah at a costume party. *runs away cackling* A definite must read just to find out what they're dressed as.

08:36 am Involuntary Voyeur by Sperrywink (NC-17)
NCIS
Pairing: DiNozzo/OFC, DiNozzo/Gibbs
Length: 4242
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] sperrywink
Author Website: N/A

Why this must be read:
I love seeing characters through someone else's eyes. This time it's through McGee's somewhat blurry eyes that he gets to see Tony's sexual charisma in action. McGee's thoughts are funny, what he sees is hot, and everyone is in character down to the ending.

Tony wasn’t lost in his own rhythm or worrying about erogenous zones. His focus was centered on the girl, on her whole being in a way that McGee had imagined Tony was too selfish to ever achieve, and knew he had always been too analytical to even come close to.

12:04 pm Turnabout by jennyo (PG)
Fandom: DOCTOR WHO
Pairing: None - unless you count Doctor/his own ego, Martha/her own awesomeness
Length: One-shot
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] jennyo
Author Website: Jennifer-Oksana's
Why this must be read: I've loved of [livejournal.com profile] jennyo's writing in other fandoms, so I was sincerely excited when she started writing Doctor Who fic. In this story, after putting up with the Doctor's asshaberdashery in "Human Nature" and "The Family of Blood," Martha makes the Doctor take her to a location of *her* choice. [livejournal.com profile] jennyo's idea for just where and when Martha would want to visit is inspired yet in-character. Although, now it's the Doctor's turn to feel like a fish out of water.

12:40 pm Watching Long In Hope And Fear by vain-glorious (PG)
Fandom: STARGATE SG1
Pairing: None; mostly Cam and Daniel
Length: 4,082
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] vain_glorious
Author Website: N/A; all her fic's on her lj.
Why this must be read:

This was written for me for [livejournal.com profile] sg1_jubilee last year; even above how much I like it because it was written in response to what I wanted, it's still a great fic.

This is kind of like the anti-off-world cliche fic, only nowhere near as cracked out as that sounds. SG1 get captured, then escape, and everything seems to be going fine except... not so much. There's head injuries, ankle injuries, Strategic Body Heat Preservation (not cuddling!), a near escape through the gate that... isn't... and then a really cool twist at the end. All of this along with Daniel and Cam and their usual snarky sort-of friendship.

Fandom: STARGATE ATLANTIS
Pairing: None gen
Length: 8,261
Rating: PG-13
Author on LJ: [personal profile] vain_glorious
Author Website: Appears to Livejounal Only
Why this must be read:

When I first started to read this I thought it would be a bog standard Team doing road trip on Earth there are some excellent fic along those lines which I enjoy. So I was looking forward to reading this. It is done for Sheppards pov. All the main 4 are written very well. Ronon and Teyla recations to Earth are very in keeping with the Character. Also Rodney is in fine form. I Had to read this twice to understand it fully. The only other thing that I will warn you about that this is a AU.

07:12 pm Northern Light by Shadow, NC-17
I did not notice until I was going through the list of fics I'd been accumulating since April that I had accumulated two "Blind Ray" fics; this is a very different story than "Due For a Change" whatever structural or thematic commonalities they share.

Fandom: DUE SOUTH
Pairing: Kowalski/Fraser
Length: Novellette in four linked parts
Author on LJ:unknown
Author Website:A Real Adventure
Why this must be read:Because it was an award winning story in 2003 but hasn't been recommended here before, because it has some wonderful OCs and gives a great picture of how people in small towns take care of each other, because Kowalski and Fraser are both rational and yet it still manages to be a little romantic and very hot.

08:43 pm Vegas In Green Tiles by Lady Paperclip (PG-13)
Fandom: HOUSE
Pairing: Chase/Wilson
Length: 3,173 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] paperclipbitch
Author Website: N/A
Why this must be read:

I'm not usually a fan of Chase/Wilson, but this story makes you think it could happen just like this. House is in a coma, but the world doesn't just stop. The fellows, Wilson, and Cuddy have to deal with it, with knowing he might not come out of it, and that's what the story is about. House might not be a character in this story, but his absence leaves a gaping hole the author writes around, to show how the others might react.

09:58 pm In the Mind’s Eye Revisited: Arc 1 by DC (NC-17)
Hi, I will be providing recs for the Tour of Duty fandom this month. I was briefly delayed by an infected tooth, but will be making up for lost time. This is a small fandom but loaded with excellent writers. You can find the fandom overview here: Tour of Duty Overview

Fandom: TOUR OF DUTY
Pairing: Sergeant Zeke Anderson/Lieutenant Myron Goldman
Length: long story arc (86,000 words)
Author on LJ: [profile] dawnchsr
Author Website: Notes From the Underground

Why this must be read:

The Mind’s Eye universe was originally developed in a story written by Creed Cascade. It’s a very intriguing alternate universe, where the soldiers in Tour of Duty are bonded in pairs, based on the “Sacred Band of Thebes.” With Creed’s permission, DC took this premise and ran with it, developing two large story arcs, with plenty of room for more to come.

The first arc deals with Sgt Anderson, recently losing his bond partner, meeting Lt Goldman. Goldman resists the bond with all his being, afraid of being subsumed into another’s mind and losing his own free will. Sgt Anderson knows that their bond is unusually strong and will not be denied. The clash of wills is intense, until Sgt Anderson and Col Brewster are kidnapped by terrorists and Lt Goldman, despite being in intense pain from his resisting the bond, must lead the rescue. DC always beautifully sets the scene, describing this alien world, yet grounds it all in the spot-on characterizations she draws. Her ability to write complex action scenes is highlighted in the raid on the terrorists. If you like a nice, long, juicy read, this is for you. The second arc is equally compelling.
