Fandom: MERLIN Pairing: Merlin/Arthur Length: ~ 18,000 (in two parts) Author on LJ: seperisAuthor Website: Indulgence at Illuminated TextWhy this must be read: The first and last reason could be summed up as "because it's Jenn." She's a strong writer in many fandoms, and her take on the Merlin boys is no exception. However, this is also what I consider to be the ultimate Protective!Arthur hurt/comfort fic. When Merlin is injured in an altercation with a knight-in-training, Arthur has to train Merlin to fight for his honour, or find some other way to get him out of the situation before he gets himself killed. There's a wonderful plot, minor characters who are present in well-rounded appearances, and some of the absolute best angry/dangerous/protective Arthur I've ever seen. Ever wonder what Arthur would do if Merlin's life was truly threatened? How far he'd go? Who he'd be willing to hurt to protect him? This is that story. (With the bonus of hot, desperate, "I don't want you to die and I will find a way to save you" sex.) ( 'He's a peasant. He *has* no honour to defend.' Arthur looks over at Merlin at that moment, or he might have missed the narrow-eyed flash of utter rage. Oh, holy hell. 'I am perfectly capable--'

Why this must be read: Because who knew breakfast decisions could be so crucial? It’s the morning after their first time and Blair contemplates what it all means. This is a cute story by a *really* new author. Krossero has only been writing TS for a few months. Isn’t it great that our fandom is still attracting writers? This already gets a plus in my book, since I’m one of those people who thinks everything goes better with food. *g* But I liked this little story, and especially Blair’s conclusions about the future. Enjoy.

Fandom: HIGHLANDER Pairing: Gen Length: medium length Author on LJ: sleeps with coyotes ciceqi Author Website: Blood, love and Rhetoric Why this must be read: Somebody in Eternal Accounting made a bad, bad mistake...I like this one, it has Fitz and Kronos and the rest of the horsemen which automatically makes it awesome. Fandom: BANDOM Pairing: Jon Walker/Brendon Urie (Panic at the Disco) Length: 14,439 words Author on LJ: dsudisAuthor Website: Tagged Fic; Words, Words, Words (author's website) Why this must be read:I promised you kittens and I am giving you kittens! This is a fic where Jon Walker, as the summary states, is sometimes a kitten. But it's much more than that. This is another wonderful example of crack!fic done absolutely, beautifully right. The characters are very well-done here, Jon and Brendon in particular. Jon as a kitten is delightfully adorable to read and is a character unto himself, but Jon as a boy is evocative and sweet and very recognizable as the JWalk we all know and love. Brendon, in turn, compliments him so well and is sweet, adorable, and empathetic. And, you know, the sex is hot. What I truly love about this fic is that it's so fleshed out. Without being boring and unnecessarily plotty, the boys are all full characters, the situation isn's just a throwaway cliche scenario, and the love story itself is cute and satisfying to read. dsudis has truly done a great job with a premise that saw it's bandom heyday a long time ago and made it new, exciting, refreshing, and the kind of fic you can read over and over again.
