Fandom: Magnificent Seven Pairing: Ezra/Vin Length: 15,008 Author on LJ: Unknown Author's website: Katherine's web pageWhy this must be read: It's the 4th of July and there's a celebration at Four Corners. The first part of the story is from Chris' POV as he views the town and it's people during the celebration. I like the glimpses of various members of the team as they enjoy all the fun of the carnival and really enjoy this look at a comfortable and indulgent Chris. The second part of the story is about Vin's search for Ezra and how the two men discover they have lots more in common than they first thought. The backstory for both men is well drawn and I like how the author describes Vin's fascination with Ezra. The sex is hot, the smidgen of hurt/comfort is just right and the last portion winds the story up perfectly. Thanks for a wonderful turn at the van for this month! To be honest I hadn't had the time to post all the recs I wanted, especially the ones from the recent DC_Kink. Second, it's only natural that I should have a soft spot for Guy/Kyle buddy fics where they become more than friends, right? perpet_fic doesn't disappoint in this lovely fic which brilliantly showcases their friendship, their lives as Green Lanterns, and their growing feelings for each other. The ficlets vary in pairing, tone, rating, and plot, but all showcase the charms of one Bob Bryar with enough detail for me to re-read this many times. If I had to pick out favorites it would be the ones with Brian and with Spencer, but I loved the Bob/Jepha/Brendon ficlet, and the one with Gabe made me grin a lot. The one with Pete was especially sweet. Fair warning, there be SPOILERS for the 2nd XF movie in this rec. ( in case you haven't seen it )There's a lyrical beauty to this short story, and it hits the right notes with characterization. You'll recognize this Mulder and Scully, even if you didn't see the film. These are the characters I remember and still love, with scars dulled into twisted tissue, but not overwhelming them.
