She was a writer in Starsky & Hutch, The Sentinel and Supernatural, as well as several other fandoms listed on both of her LJs. I thought as a nice tribute I'd rec a story or two of hers for everybody to enjoy. I like this particular story because I think she's given me a true to life reaction from Starsky to his scars from the hit orchestrated by Gunther that almost ended his life, and from the surgeon's scalpel. It wasn't as though he'd never looked at them; he could hardly avoid it, entirely. The first time they'd changed his dressings in the hospital, after he woke up, it was a sick fascination to see the criss-crossing riddle of bright red scars, tied together with the black stitches. On his chest. Those tiny, neat stitches, like his mother's needlework, holding him together. Then, he'd been too grateful and too doped up to have any sort of coherent thought about anything except the fact that he was alive, and that was a good thing.

I mentioned below in my first post that Reggie passed away and this is a tribute to a writer whom I enjoy reading. This is a kink story that gives me one of my favourite kinks: bondage and domination. It is also a story about love. Hutch has had an especially stressful day and Starsky knows what Hutch needs to reconnect. Just as suddenly as the kiss began, it ended, and their positions were reversed. Starsky found himself on his back and Hutch's knees on either side of his hips, being ruthlessly and methodically divested of his clothing. Some of the buttons on his shirt were casualties of Hutch's need for him to be naked now, and they bounced across the floor and disappeared. He tried to help, but Hutch wouldn't let him; he tried to move, but was caught and held fast. Then, Hutch's mouth came down on his again, and, lost, he didn't try anything else. Tonight | | |

It’s post-CotW, with Fraser back in Chicago. He wakes up in the hospital with amnesia… and I won’t spoil it for you. Terrific Fraser POV, with him trying to figure out who he is and where he fits. I love this fic a lot, and cannot believe it’s never been recced here before. china_shop is one of my favorite authors, one whose fic I will read no matter the pairing, or the fandom apparently *cough White Collar fic cough* Pitch perfect voices, just enough angst, and smoking sex. Best of all is the love and affection, both the characters for each other, and the author for the fandom. This is definitely another story that just makes me happy. ( and so it begins… )This is Your LifeI hope that everyone’s enjoyed the ride – it’s been a blast reccing some of my favorite (not already recced) dS stories! Starting as a lighthearted, cute PWP piece that makes a reader smile - a pursuing Sasuke w/Naruto the oblivous (how rare), it developed into smart, slick fic dealing with deep issues a la Konoha. As the other characters were introduced, Naruto's and Sasuke's experiences became addictive. It's well worth the time this giant story will require. While the premise of "War Shorn" is not an unfamiliar one- what happens when one of the seven is presumed dead- the way it is executed here is incredibly well done as the story moves from the team's reaction to Chris' 'death' to the real fear for what Vin might be doing as a result of it. an excerpt: Vin was moving on auto-pilot. The only thought in his head was running on a continuous loop: 'Chris is dead.' He saw again the brilliant flash of orange, red, and yellow as the truck exploded and the world as Vin knew it ended. A sob escaped him before he could choke it back down, and Vin held his breath to keep others from doing so, as well. He hadn't felt this kind of pain in a long time, and he realized that he wanted to kill someone. But first, he had to find out who. War Shorn | | |
