Slash Why this must be read: It’s a delightfully funny story told with as much wit as humor.
This is written in second person narrative, which I haven’t seen often but I really liked. The narrative focuses on Jim and I think it works better here than first person, because the distance it provides keeps the angst at bay. And, since one of the plots has Blair receiving anonymous threats, it could have turned out
quite angsty. Instead it tells the story with a lot of humor, especially directed at a favorite fanon theme: Jim’s BPS (Blessed Protector Syndrome).
Move over, Jim! Blair has found a new Blessed Protector in the form of a lost dog who thinks it’s his duty to stand vigil over Blair against *everyone*, including Jim. So, when threatening emails to Blair start escalating in seriousness, Jim is more than happy to share the Blair protection patrol. However, Jim and the dog (named Zahreh) differ when it comes to a new colleague of Blair’s. Jim thinks he’s a suspect; Zahreh thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread. Enjoy!
