Length: ~2K words

Why this must be read:

I’m not sure if I saw TRON during its original theatrical run, but if I did, I was far too young to appreciate Dan Shor, Jeff Bridges, and Bruce Boxleitner in skintight circuit suits. As an adult, I got a lot more out of the scene in which our heroes get stoned refresh themselves at an energy pool — and that was before I read this scorching rewrite, inspired by a prompt at the [livejournal.com profile] tronkinkmeme:
Close your eyes. And listen to the scene take on a whoooole neeeew context. It's especialy [sic] awesome if you can listen with headphones so you can really hear all the quiet gasps and pants between the splashing and Tron's murmur of 'Oh that's nice' and the giggling, and contented humming ... that's what I want! hot splashing energizing sex in liquid energy with giggly Flynn and Ram and a Tron that's gone all toppy now that he remembers 'how good the power feels'

To quote Ram, “That, is just what I need, right now.”

“Respite in a Spring,” as posted on the [livejournal.com profile] tronkinkmeme and at AO3.

12:50 pm Like Father, Like Son, by [livejournal.com profile] hey_giffy (PG)
Fandom: TRON
Pairing: gen (ref to Alan/Kevin)
Length: 1.3K words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] hey_giffy
Author Website: [livejournal.com profile] the_grrrrid, “a comm for the shared Tron universe(s) of [livejournal.com profile] igrab, [livejournal.com profile] citiesfalling, [livejournal.com profile] hey_giffy, and [livejournal.com profile] sleepygreeny.”
Why this must be read:

During his grandmother’s last days, Sam Flynn is living in Alan Bradley’s basement — not the most promising set-up for comedy, I know, but then Alan, while tidying, finds something in Sam’s bed and decides that he and the teenager need to have a conversation:
“Look, Alan, it's fine. Really. I've got a box of- uh- things. In case I need them. They glow in the dark, too- my friends called them trondoms.” Another pause followed. “.... I am... not entirely sure why I told you that.” Sam said slowly, carefully.

[livejournal.com profile] hey_giffy manages to pack a lot into this story: the awkwardness of The Talk for both parties in the discussion; the lingering pain caused by Kevin Flynn’s disappearance; the different nature of that loss for Sam and Alan (father vs. friend (and here, lover)); and the fact that for both men, time has passed, and they’ve found a measure of happiness.

Pairing: none
Length: 4 parts

Why this must be read:
This is kidfic with a twist. What I love about it is that kidBlair isn't overly cutesie and Jim is adorably bewildered and out of his depth with a mini version of his guide in place of the one he's come to rely on.The slug scene is worth the price of admission alone.

Why this must be read: Originally posted on the authors defunct journal ninjajab, this rare pairing is a delight to read!

I admit, I was a little wary of reading this, but it showed the build up of two people living busy lives, first becoming friends and the finally getting together. It's an adorable one-shot and the author does an excellent job of building the slow relationship and letting us catch glimpses into their lives.

I definately would say to give it a read and a chance and see why these two make an adorable couple.

10:58 pm Failure to Communicate by Tipper (PG13 by reccer)

Fandom: STARGATE ATLANTIS
Pairing: none
Length: 55, 304 words

Tipper's Green, Fanfic.net
Why this must be read:
Tipper is one of the queens of SGA action/adventure fics with spot-on characterizations and jaw-dropping examinations of human emotion. In my humble opinion, Failure to Communicate is one of her best examples of this. Rodney is severely injured in an escape attempt with John and the others are captured in a mission gone very FUBAR. With a strained friendship and Rodney losing blood fast, Sheppard and McKay must find a way to survive and save the others. Tipper just has a gift in portraying the strain of a friendship on the rocks because of a misunderstanding and a lack of communication. John and Rodney's struggle to overcome this barrier and still save their friends is an incredible journey and yet a very sad one. In the final rush to the finish and heart-stopping finale, Tipper will leave you breathless from her very firm grasp of suspense and the coming together of the threads of rescue. Definitely a fantastic fic to illustrate the action/adventure and characterization sides of Stargate fanfiction!
