Why this must be read: - I interpret the writer's notes as saying this was written as a fix-it for the end of SenToo Pt 1, before viewers knew if there would ever be a fourth season. Blair finds himself in what appears to be the reception area of a hotel. He's directed down a tunnel... but there's a wolf there, standing guard, refusing to let him pass...

From context I assume that the next character who appears is from Highlander. I know almost nothing about that show, having seen no more of it than the first ten minutes or so of the pilot, but the author says this is a crossover with it and that knowledge of it isn't needed, and I'd agree, it's easy to consider this character as an OC.

As someone who came into Sentinel late, seeing it on videos borrowed from a friend who had been sent them by an American friend (it wasn't shown in the UK until another couple of years after that) I had about a two minute (if that) delay between seeing SenToo parts 1 & 2, and I'm fascinated by the stories written as fix-its during the hiatus. This is a very good one even though the writer describes it as 'a bit of fluff'.

Why this must be read: torch is well known for her steamy Krycek-centric fics. This hilarious crossover features our favorite one-armed double agent, but in a new context: making an appointment with Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman to make sure that the current administration isn't about to rock the boat. Krycek's actual appearance is brief, but the banter between Josh, his assistant Donna, and his friend Sam is just terrific.

Why this must be read: it's not just good; it's smart. Like, really, really smart, and I love the conceit of framing the fic as a movie. And also the ending makes me a little flaily with joy.

Why this must be read: This fic is responsible for ever getting me to read Sandman in the first place -- though you don't really need to know it to enjoy the story. It's achingly sad and deliciously creepy at the same time, and meshes the two canons together brilliantly.

Warnings: Temporary character death
Why this must be read:

[livejournal.com profile] misswinterhill is justly known for some great fic, but I am a particular fan of this little gem - I think it captures all of the Endless brilliantly, but so subtly that you would scarcely believe it's a crossover. Merlin and Arthur too, in a canon setting this time, are beautifully drawn, with Arthur's grief the more poignant for its understatedness. But don't worry, this isn't a proper angst fic, there's a lot of hope too, and wonderful cameos - for example, Gwaine and Delirium drinking together is an image that always makes me smile.

Star Trek space. . . .we even get Data, a ST:NG universe story can't go wrong with Data in it. You will get sucked in same as I and I hope you enjoy the flight.

Why this must be read:This is such a great story. It's part of the Starsky and Hutch Virtual season, but it can be read as a stand alone fic. Starsky and Hutch have to transport a prisoner, by train to Seattle. What happens when you put Starsky and Hutch on a train with a prisoner? Yep, bad things. It has lots of H/C and Starsky angst. Keri is such a great writer!

Did the airline cancel the flight?" Starsky asked, wondering why their captain seemed so flustered.

"No. Leonard's attorney did that."

"Come again, Cap'n?" Starsky asked incredulously. "How the hell did he pull that off? He own American Airlines or something?"

"It seems that Leonard has a psychological disorder." The captain raised both hands to silence the laughter that followed his words. "Quiet down!"

"Oh, come on, Captain. What criminal doesn't have a psychological disorder or two?" Hutch said derisively. "How did that get the flight canceled?"

"Because, Hutchinson, Leonard suffers from aviophobia, and he has a signed doctor's release form to back up his claim."

"What the hell is aviophobia?" Starsky asked, stumbling a little over the word's pronunciation.

"It's fear of flying,"

Length: approx. 4,000 words

Why this must be read: It's the time of winter solstice in 1958 and U.N.C.L.E. agent Napoleon Solo is in New Hope, PA on the trail of a Thrush who is about to auction off some highly classfied stolen govenment documents. The Thrush is also "aspiring" to witch-hood, which leads Napoleon to an interesting source for information, a Wiccan shop owner.

This story was written for me during the MUNCLE 2010 Down the Chimney story exchange and I couldn't have asked for a better gift. I love backstories and this one on Napoleon before he met/became partners with Illya is very intriguing. As is the genesis it presents of how Solo got his famous pinky ring. I do admit I have my own ideas about the genesis of that ring, but this one nonetheless I find very believable, with its teasing tie to the later much-referenced Solo's Luck.
