Title: Oxygen Deprivation, or An Visione by Helvirago Pairing: none Length: 2K Author on LJ: helviragoAuthor Website: unknown Why this must be read: Because it’s kind of sweet and crazy and a nice missing scene. I’ll let you figure out which episode. I just love Yuletide because I get to read (and learn about) fandoms I’d never come across any other way. So imagine my surprised pleasure when I found Blair playing around in a 2003 Yuletide fic. Well, not exactly playing; more like wandering around in a realm that is confusing the hell out of him. Understandable, since he’s having a close encounter with Delirium: ( First impressions are always so important! )PsychGirl recommended a Sandman cross a couple of years ago but it’s still a very tiny fandom. I’m happy to have found another one in this (to me) incomprehensible but interesting universe. Enjoy. Oxygen Deprivation, or An Visione Feedback makes the world go ‘round. Giving some will make you and the author feel great!

Title: A Rum Thing Indeed by Maineac Pairing: None Author on LJ: maineacAuthor Website: Author's House fic on LJ, Author's House fic on ff.netWhy this must be read:Shows with actors in common lend themselves naturally to crossovers, and one of the strategies authors often take is to have one of the characters discovering the other while watching television. What makes this ficlet by maineac stand out is the hilariously in-character dialogue by Jeeves & Wooster as they confront the puzzler of an American doctor who bears a certain resemblance to Bertie's Uncle Jimmy. Fandom: LIFE ON MARS UK Pairing: Gen Length: 4,304 words. Author on LJ: lacidianaAuthor Website: On AO3Why this must be read: This is a post-apocalyptic fic from one of our newer and completely amazing writers. This is not the only Life on Mars story of LaCidiana's I recommend. Read them all! The summary for When Moving Through Kashmir is this --- "Sam's world collapses around them" --- and boy, does it. But it does it with a kind of lyrical beauty that is haunting, insightful, and raw. LaCidiana writes Sam and Gene with just the right levels of animosity and friendship and it makes for very compelling reading. This story will leave you breathless, turn your heart inside-out. It will gut you. But it will have been well worth it. Warning: This fic contains character death. ( Excerpt )When Moving Through Kashmir

Title: some companions the doctor never had (but he probably should've) - part two, by thingswithwings Pairing: Troy/Abed/Ace, Troy/Abed Author on LJ: thingswithwingsAuthor Website: Fanworks MasterpostWhy this must be read:As the title suggests, this story is part of a series (and the series, in fact, is incomplete). The different installments stand alone, though, so I'm only reccing the relevant Community crossover! This fic has the rather delightful and unique premise that Troy and Abed sort of live in the TARDIS when they're asleep back at Greendale. While there they befriend Ace, a companion from the Classic Who era, and the three of them explore the TARDIS and make pillow forts and watch odd Gallifreyan films. Why wouldn't you want to read that? some companions the doctor never had (but he probably should've) - part two

Title: Little Talks by AuKestrel Pairing: Ray Kowalski ( due South)/Christopher Hayden ( Gilmore Girls) Author on LJ: aukestrelAuthor Website: Her Due South stories may be found on her websiteWhy this must be read: Ray Kowalski, fresh out of the Academy, is off-again with his girlfriend Stella. He's stuck at an event with her family, but fortunately Stella's got a hot cousin in the Navy and he is able to distract Ray. This story is full of love and lust and cars and speed and sex and self-discovery. It's all the very best things about being young - feeling invincible, untouchable and free, like something out of a Springsteen song. This fic gives us a wonderful glimpse into a young Ray K, and the sex is scorching hot, and will definitely push all the right buttons if you've ever had an impure thought about Ray's GTO. ;) If you enjoy the story, you can leave feedback for the author here. Title: "To Lose Your Ears" by Anonymous Pairing: mainly Light/Matsuda but with mentions of L/Light and Light/Misa Author on LJ: Unknown, as the anonymous author never outed themselves, at least not that I could find. Their single known fic is on both dn_kink and on dn_kink2, but comments can only be left on the new meme's copy, because the old meme is defunct. Author Website: Unknown Why this must be read:Light/Matsuda is an uncommon pairing in the Death Note fandom, and it has rarely been done so beautifully and tragically as it's done in this fanfic. It is a great character study for both people in the main pairing, perfectly capturing Light's charisma, intelligence and insanity, and also perfectly capturing Matsuda's hero-worship, hopefulness, and naivety. It's a crossover with Loveless, a manga/anime where everyone is born with cat ears and a tail, and loses them at the same time as losing their virginity. It is not important to be familiar with Loveless, since this fanfic uses only Death Note characters and the Loveless mechanics/setting, but it is important to have read/watched the second half of the Death Note manga/anime, because otherwise some things in this fanfic won't make sense. Title: Solid Soul by nightanddaze Pairing: Godric/Eric, Eric/Nate Fick, Brad Colbert/Nate Fick Length: 5264 Author on LJ: nightanddazeAuthor Website: nightanddazeWhy this must be read:The atmosphere of this story is astounding. nightanddaze manages to cross two wildly different shows - both in subject matter and tone - and do it beautifully. One of the most striking things is that we see the world through Godric's eyes. It's quite difficult to get across the age of such a character and yet she makes it look effortless. Just a gorgeous, lyrical, insightful little story that says so much and implies even more. Back in the suburb, Nate Fick is likely just waking up, stretching out in his bed, his hands and knees brushing his partner. He will get up, eat his breakfast, dress and go to work, where he will do the important things he does, and then he will come home, just as the sun is starting to dip. And then Godric will see him again after the sun has gone down, when he leaves the house for his run, his hands in loose fists and his eyes always looking forward. Perhaps this time Godric will speak to him. Solid Soul
