This is lovely, bittersweet, and an absolute essential piece regarding coat!kink!! This is a difficult story about a Clint that has been misunderstood in a fundamental way for most of his life. There is a Clint backstory that just makes you want to hug him and there is Clint finding Phil and therefore finding answers.

There is a follow up story that develops the relationship further.

Why this must be read:
This is a new fic in the fandom, and it's long, lovely and satisfying. Something happens to James and it breaks Robbie open. And once it's done that it threatens to tear their partnership asunder too. The author has selected 'Author chose not to use archive warnings' on the AO3, but I cannot recommend this story strongly enough – even if you're of a more faint-hearted fic reading persuasion.

This is such a good story, and such a good love story. 

“It’s not as simple as that.” James takes a jerky drag of his cigarette, sitting now with shoulders hunched, and something about his posture just twists at Robbie’s heart, though he doesn’t know why. “If I accepted, it’d be under false pretences. I haven’t been completely honest with you, and please don’t ask me what about, because I can’t tell you-”

Why this must be read

The top five choices to be the last rec are all read by Anatsuno, which gives you an idea of how good she is.  I have such an aural crush on her (in a very respectful, noncreepy way).  I went with the one that might not be as well known as others she has recorded but is brilliantly written by ethrosdemon.  Edith is Arthur's pet pig and that surreal idea spins out into a gorgeous post-inception life as Arthur stops being the Point Man.  One of the very best parts of this is the way the writer captures that almost indefinable atmosphere that happens when you are about to do something that is obviously foolish and you want to do it anyway.  In this story it involves a pet pig, schnapps and Brighton Beach but I am enough of a romantic to believe each of us all had wild nights that have transformed us.  That the writer delivers that feeling of peculiar joy and anticipation is tremendous.  I fear my blitherings are turning you off, not on, so the bottom line is you should go read and/or listen to Edith and you will be amazed.

Why this must be read First of all, I'm kind of astounded that this story wasn't given a Crack Van rec years ago. It features a dubious character from Jim's past, who has his own kind of logic for his actions. As Kikkimax spins this tale, we're unsure of just what this character is going to do, much like Jim and Blair don't know which way the guy is going to jump. And Blair might be the one who'll pay Jim's debt to his old army buddy.

And I love how Blair finds a way to send him a message back that focuses on a postive future.

Why this must be read

Not having much experience with fanvids, I spend some time this weekend checking them out.  And got totally overwhelmed.  So many amazingly talented people out there, not doubt, but better people than I should have the fun of reccing the best in the fandom.

So I am sneaking in a last rec by an author I have already recced.  In fact the first rec I made was Toomuchplor's Steinway!verse and it is the one I hope the most people read and/or listen to.  I now bookmark the month with another one by Tomuchplor and Xenakis with the Schmoop Bomb series.  Arthur and Eames adopting a baby in Kenya and becoming a family is the most simple summary.  But it is so much more than that when written by these two gifted authors.  The depth and solidness of Eames and Arthur's relationship is beautiful to watch and how they become parents a fascinating process.  There are multiple stories in the series that make it a long and satisfying read.  And one I re-read regularly, which is odd as I don't like kid fics as a rule.  This one I adore, absolutely adore.
