Fandom: Stargate Atlantis Pairing: McKay/Sheppard, McKay/Keller Length: 8,555 Author on LJ: pir8fancierAuthor Website: Romance with DicksWhy this must be read: All of the Atlantis personnel are being required to go through psych evaluations - and everyone is eventually cleared except for John Sheppard, that is. The author has created a marvelous character in the psychologist Dr. Vickers; you might not like him, but the man is tenacious - which he'd have to be if he's going to make any headway, pardon the pun, with a man as screwed up in the head like Sheppard. (I'd cite an episode of the show to support my statement about John Sheppard, but just go look at a list of the 100 episodes of the show and that should do nicely.) This story is just so incredibly well written; the prose is lush, the characters hit all the right notes, and it's got that combination of angst/humor that the show did oh so well. It's just a scrumptious piece of fiction that you'll revel in. This might possibly be pir8fancier's last Stargate Atlantis story so there's some melancholy surrounding it, at least for me, but if it is she's leaving on a high note. If you enjoy the story be sure to leave her comment to tell her so. This is my last rec of the month and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who left comments here and who took the time to leave kudos and comments on the authors/vidders work. It's been a fun ride and I'm looking forward to all the wonderful stuff that's going to be recommended in April and beyond! Thanks everyone! Do the Math

This is the last rec from me for the month. It's been fun and I hope to do it again some time . Fandom: THE SENTINEL Pairing: Jim/Blair Length: 14 557 Author on LJ: alyburnsAuthor Website: Alyjude's basementOr stories at Artifact Storage Room 3Why this must be read:When I realised my last rec of the month was going to fall on Easter Sunday it was an easy choice to make. Major Crime gets roped in to help with the Mayor's Easter charity event and guess who has to dress up as the Easter chick? Very funny story and one to enjoy with your chocolate egg ( if you do the Easter thing.) If you're like me the mental image of Blair in the chick costume will stay with you long after you finish reading. He Ain't No Chick Part OnePart Two

Fandom: TRANSFORMERS/STARGATE SG-1 Pairing: canon Length: 13,012 words Author on LJ: not known Author Website: HEREWhy this must be read: what if SG-1 team met the Autobots? Take one group of space explorer-alien fighters mix with another group of alien fighter. Stir well and then sit back and wait. "Yeap, I'm a chick magnet," Sam said smugly. "All the women in my life either want to feed me or have me read them a story."
"That’s better than what Daniel attracts," Jack commented. "His either want to marry him or kill him."
Daniel turned and gave Jack a disgusted look. "I'm not that bad," he countered.
"Oh really," Jack drawled. "Hathor. Osiris."
"Anise and Kynthia," Daniel snapped back.
"Like I would touch Anise with a 20 foot pole," Jack replied with a snort. "And Kynthia was a sweet kid in an adult body but she was still a kid. Ke’ra. Sarah."
Still perched on Optimus' knee, Sam leaned towards Carter and Teal'c and in a stage whisper said, "Are they… you know… together." Better Than A Backward Flushing Toilet by Lady_FoxFire (T)

One last rec for the Hawaii Five-0 van this month. Hope everyone had a fun ride and enjoy! Fandom: HAWAII FIVE-0 (NEW) Pairing: Steve/Danny Length: 1,875 words Author on LJ: delicataleAuthor Website: Masterlist on LJWhy this must be read: Author's Summary: It took them 5 days, 14 hours and 43 minutes to get Danny back. Steve didn't think he'd be the one needing Danny afterwards. As a finale this month, I leave you with one of my favorite Steve/Danno fics. This is all raw emotion. The reader feels everything in the gut, especially Steve's desperation while Danny is gone and the emotion on the beach when he has Danny home. I love seeing Steve's character explored like this where we get to see how very deep his emotional well runs. There's a lot going on beneath all those muscles and those smoky eyes. And Danny's there to give him the hugs and comfort he needs 5 Days - 143 Hours - 8086 Minutes

Fandom: Teen Wolf Pairing: Derek/Stiles Length: 1822 Author on LJ: entangled_nowAuthor Website: here or here on LJ and here on AO3 Author's Summary: This is like the pre-credits sequence of every horror movie, he's probably going to be eaten before the main character is even introduced. Why this must be read: So technically I'm listing the first story as the rec, but I'm actually listing the whole series as a must read. "The Man Who Wasn't There" is the first in a series of twelve stories called Milkshakes & Matchsticks that details a slow courtship between Stiles and Derek that is absolutely spot on. entangled_now takes Stiles quirks and Derek's issues and runs with them, portraying this couple with the kind of understanding that doesn't smooth over the potential rough patches they would have to overcome in their relationship, but rather builds on them. All together the series is a little more than 50,000 words long, and is a definite must read if you have any fondness for this pairing at all. "The Man Who Wasn't There" on LJ or AO3

Fandom: TRANSFORMERS Pairing: canon Length: 4,625 Author on LJ: not known Author Website: HEREWhy this must be read: It’s a conversation Judy had with Optimus after the battle in Egypt and we learn a lot about them both in this story :) "Please, don't despair on my behalf. It happened a long time ago," he said, but she wouldn't hear of it.
"I'll damn well despair if I want to!" Judy yelled, blowing her nose loudly into the rag. "It's…it's so not fair. What right does that creep have, huh?"
Now that she pondered it, maybe the information Optimus Prime's had offered explained a lot. If only that Megatron'd had a parental figure in his life, perhaps he would have turned out differently. The war might not have happened and no one would have died. Then again…
"I bet if your dad-mentor-person was here, he'd be awfully proud of you," Judy felt compelled to announce. She blew her nose into the rag again and Ron stirred for the first time, rolling over in his sleep. "Dropping dead aside, you've done pretty well for yourself."
Optimus Prime gave her the most indescribable look, before he nodded in gratitude. All in the Family

Fandom: TRANSFORMERS Pairing: none Length: 27,650 words Author on LJ: not known Author Website: HEREWhy this must be read: this one is Mikaela’s story. And how she discoveres the Autobots and her own destiny. "I just don't wanna get in anybody's way, or anything," she tried explaining, and this time, it was Ratchet who answered.
"If you get in my way, you'll know it," he said, without taking his eyes from his work. "Go ahead and talk – it'll keep him from pestering me." So he said, then muttered something that sounded rude even to her. Bumblebee's eyes glowed a little more brightly.
"Ok. Thanks." I guess, Mikaela added silently. She glanced up at Bumblebee once more and pursed her lips slightly, thinking furiously. You're, like, two steps away from an alien – there's got to be a million things to talk about, so think of something! But for some reason, she was drawing a blank.
Fortunately, Bumblebee saved her. "It would hurt," he said, returning to her original question, "but my system shut down those receptor-circuits some time ago." Bridges
