Fandom: DUE SOUTH
Pairing: Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski
Length: About 2000 words
Author on LJ:
Author Website: They have a website and an AO3
Why this must be read: I was making a rec list for a friend a few days ago and I ran across this fic and it made me smile just looking at it. This fic combines graphics and words to tell a convincing story about RayK's immigration to Canada and how it might have happened. It also has a bit of a choose your own adventure twist because there are certain choices that the reader gets to make which make the fic all the better.

06:49 am The Direct Approach by Princess of Geekland (Mature)
Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: 5K words
Author on LJ: http://princessofgeeks.dreamwidth.org/
Author Website: at AO3
Why this must be read: It plays (gently) with the popular “there is only one bed” trope , mixing in a little fun and a little angst.

Post-series, Jim and Blair are heading to a small town to do Simon a favor: provide a local big-wig with personal protection from Cascade’s top cop and his partner. In this case Jim is happy to help. He’s still recovering from his gunshot wound and Blair is waiting to get into the academy. It’s an in-between time that allows for some reflection and perhaps a change in direction for the pair.

Although Princess is much more prolific and well-known in the Stargate SG-1 fandom, she’s contributed some great work in TS and to 852 prospect. It’s been a few years since she was last recommended at Crack Van. It’s time to bring her work back into the light. Enjoy.

10:29 am "It Feels Like Christmas" by stillscape (PG)
Fandom: Parks and Recreation/The Muppets
Pairing: Leslie Knope/Ben Wyatt, other canon
Length: 8300 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] stillscape
Author Website: Tumblr

Why this must be read: This fic isn't exactly seasonal at the moment, but I was out of town for Crossover Day and wanted to make sure y'all got to read it, because it's hilarious and heartwarming and straight-up musical. It's [livejournal.com profile] stillscape at her finest and most crack-tastic, and if you don't come out smiling, well, there's not much I can do to help you.

The Christmas cookie explosion had started as a consequence of Leslie’s suspension.  )

1. To the vidder's public LiveJournal (or clone site) announcement post; or
2. In the absence of a public announcement post, direct link to the vid's webpage or to the vidder's website, or
3. For vids that are password-protected, link to the vidder's instructions on acquiring the password; or

09:38 pm Murder on San Carmelitas by Lynna Bright (Explicit)
Fandom: STARSKY & HUTCH
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Length: 71,496 words (novel-length)
Author on LJ: Not on lj
Author Website: Lynna Bright on the Starsky Hutch Archive.
Why this must be read:

Murder on San Carmelitas by Lynna Bright, with over 20 hand-drawn illustrations by Suzan Lovett, was originally published as a stand-alone zine in 1986 by [livejournal.com profile] aprilvalentine's Amapola Press. Due to technological and economic limitations of the day, the zine was initially produced with black and white representations of Suzan Lovett's original color art. When color reproduction became easier to obtain and more affordable, the editor republished the zine in 1996 to honor its 10-year anniversary with full color art and a new color cover by Suzan Lovett.
