01:28 am The Secret Life of Scientists (R) by Julad
Fandom: STARGATE: ATLANTIS
Pairing: McKay/Zelenka
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] julad
Author Website: http://yearningvoid.net/stories/julad/
Why this must be read:

Zelenka!

Ahem.

Okay, besides the Zelenka!, Rodney taunts Kavanagh and so does Zelenka and omg it all snowballs from there, they're so CUTE and HOT and I know I'm completely abusing capslock here, but once you've read the story you'll understand why.

Rodney had no idea who he was, but he already hated P. Kavanagh. What kind of a man wrote his name on his food rations? Snorting in disgust, Rodney peeled the label off P. Kavanagh's banana and stuck it to the front of the break room fridge, and then wolfed the banana down, humming a happy tune. Might as well establish his authority right off the bat.

01:36 am VID REC: Stargate: Atlantis - Holding Out for a Hero
Hey, if I were in CA, this Vid Rec would totally be on time! *g*

Vidder: Nel
Musical artist: Frou Frou
Pairing: i think you could say it's Sheppard/McKay, but this could be viewed through friendshippy eyes.
Vidder on LJ: nel_ani
Vidder's website: Pertifity
Why this vid kicks ass:

There's a bit of SG-1 action in here, but after a few shots, it's Sheppard and McKay all the way, baby. Who's the hero? You decide.

I saved this on my hard drive so that I can watch it over and over and over again, it's that good. Very fun and i love the version of the song.

click through to her website, and then click on Vids. It's the third or fourth vid down.

02:22 am Trust No Glass by Tara O'Shea (PG)
Title: Trust No Glass
Fandom: Star Trek: Voyager
Pairing: Torres/Paris, Meghan Delaney/Gerron (trust me)
Author On LJ: [livejournal.com profile] taraljc
Author Website: my little corner
Why This Story Must Be Read:

Secondary character development on Voyager was very slim. We were lucky we got all the ensembles well developed much less the secondaries...fortunately for us there was a TNG episode called Lower Decks and from that was spawned an archive of the same name. Lower Decks and to this archive (run by tara herself I should add) she added this incredible story. It's AU but in a great way and it breathes life into secondary characters like the Delaney sisters and Gerron who were, largely, nothing more than charicatures on the show. It's a Voyager that makes sense and is real and is absolutely....tangible. It's a ship and community described in such a way you can almost feel the deck underneath your feet and hear the chatter of the crew around you.

12:48 pm VID REC: Smallville - In Your Eyes
Vidder: Cathy
Musical artist: Kylie Minogue
Pairing: Lex/Clark, Lana/Clark
Vidder on LJ:
Vidder's website: Love Stories
Why this vid kicks ass:

From the site:

An interesting twist on the triangle, it's a fast video about how Lex is in love with Clark and everything is fine until a vixen in the form of Lana Lang comes into their life and changes everything. Lana and Lex get into a cat fight over Clark and both try to seduce Clark. Who will win?

She says all that there is to say: Lex, Lana, cat fight. What more do you need? Lex looking all jealous and possessive everytime Lana enters the room? You have it! Just watch the vid.

08:50 pm The Ties That Bind by Taliesin (NC17)
Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.
Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Taliesin's Reach
Why this must be read: Napoleon and Illya work very close in this story, giving the title a double meaning as the two men come to realize they are tied together in more ways than the obvious. Both journeys, across country and toward a deeper relationship, are equally well written. There's plenty of excitement as the two agents flee for their lives, yet always there's the banter, a trademark of this particular partnership, that added to my enjoyment as it both hid, yet made blatantly obvious, their mutual affection. And I was delighted by the plot twist I never saw coming.

08:56 pm The True Mary Sue, by Java Green (PG-13)
Fandom: LORD OF THE RINGS
Pairing: none
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] javagreen
Author Website: The Hub
Why this must be read:

Anyone who has dared to brave the pit of darkness that is FF.net’s LOTR section will now that the most evil of demons dwells there. It lurks in the shadows, predates on innocent Elves and desecrates good writing wherever she goes. She is Mary Sue, and there is not a soul alive who does not fear her. Or finds her extremely annoying, that is.

This story, however, gives the Mary Sues a chance: as most of these stories start, a girl is cast into Middle Earth and joins the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the Ring – and no, she is neither capable of seducing Legolas nor manages to resist the Ring. With a nod to many well-known LOTR stories, Java Green gives us this humorous, entertaining story of a girl in Middle Earth… and her obsession with Gandalf’s hat.
