12:37 am Tussle by Emily Brunson (NC-17)
*meepmeep* All a-bloody-board the Firefly van - regrettably tardy, due to some Unicode issues - the name is Eibii, and I'll be your driver for the month. (This is the part where you start screaming.) My tastes tend to fly all over the board (het, gen, slash, the works) with this particular fandom, so I'll be attempting for some sort of variety in my recs. To kick it all off... (Okay, you can stop screaming now...)

Fandom: FIREFLY
Pairing: Jayne/Mal
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] janissa11
Author Website: Emland
Why this must be read: The author manages to make the roughness of Jayne's observations of both himself, and Mal's attitude toward him (after the events of Ariel, not the warmest or fuzziest of times), seem simultaneously gruff and poetic. Dark, raw, poigniant, and probably not everyone's cup of grog due to some action bordering on non-con - two grown men in a gritty sort of encounter, where you can nearly taste the dust.

02:14 am It's All About the Quantum by Annie D (PG-13)
Fandom: STARGATE SG1
Pairing: Jack/Daniel, Sam, Teal'c
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] dachinchilla
Author Website: The Safety Pin
Why this must be read:

When a simple mission leaves Jack unconscious, the rest of the team must try to figure out what went wrong.  Light slash, the focus of this story is on the team and how they react to what Jack experiences.  An intelligent story that raises some intriguing questions about the nature of reality and quantum universes.

You didn't become Special Ops without having a piece of your mind fused into solid steel. It had given Jack's sanity something to cling to, especially after the 30th alternate or so, when everything had started to unravel, leaving Jack thinking that perhaps he wasn't ever going to get back home. Maybe he was destined to forever do the leaping thing, living a moment of every other Jack's life until there was nothing left - and since the possibilities went all around infinity and beyond, there was a lot to work around.

12:23 pm Waiting for Joe by Jay Tryfanstone (R)
Hello, I'm Calime, driving the van for the Highlander fandom in this cold (at least where I live *g*) month of February. My reading preferences run towards slash and gen, and towards fics that leave a lasting emotional impression or have an intriguing plot ( or both *g*), so that'll most likely be what affects my reccommendation choices.

Fandom: HIGHLANDER
Pairing: implied Duncan/Methos, Joe
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] tryfanstone
Author Website: terra incognita
Why this must be read: Author's warning sounds thusly:'Extended metaphor and character death, no sex.' If that does not scare you away (and I hope it does not), then you are in for a deeply moving experience. This is an achingly beautiful story from an author with an unique style and a way with words that never ceases to impress and delight me to the n'th reread.
Go, enjoy, Waiting for Joe

02:44 pm Inventing Games Out of Everything by shrift (PG-13)
Hi everyone! I'm [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy up for another round of CSI recs. I have mad love for the Nick/Greg pairing, but also harbor a not-so-secret girlcrush on Sara, so you'll most likely see those three in some permutation starring in my recs. I hope you enjoy!

Fandom: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Pairing: Nick Stokes/Greg Sanders
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] shrift
Author Website: shrift's fan fiction
Why this must be read:

A favorite CSI moment for most Nick/Greg slashers is when Greg and Nick played "Name That Chemical Compound" while working on a case. Here [livejournal.com profile] shrift takes that idea and expands on it. This story has perfect Nick and Greg voices. As an added bonus, Sara's there to spice things up and give the story some extra sass. I love pining!Greg and aggressive!Nick. Plus, you know, [livejournal.com profile] shrift. The only disappointing part about this story is that it's so short. Don't worry though, you'll love every one of the (admittedly short amount) of minutes you spend reading it.

08:27 pm Bad Reputation by Carla Jane (NC-17)
Fandom:Harsh Realm
Pairing:Pinocchio/Hobbes
Author on LJ:[livejournal.com profile] disanddat
Author Website:Carla Jane's Fanfiction
Why this must be read:

Because it's hot. Because she looks a bit into Pinocchio's life shortly after leaving the Republican Guard. Because sometimes you just need the characters to have sex. Really it's all about the sex in this one. Hobbes is spot on with his angst over Sophie and his curiousity about just how exactly guys do sex. Because Pinocchio is bitchy yet helpful to Hobbes. And there's the sex.

09:16 pm It's Like This Old Inuvit Story I Knew by Rageprufrock (PG)
Fandom: DUE SOUTH
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalksi
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock
Author Website: Glitterati
Why this must be read: [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock is a fabulously talented writer. This is the only story she's written in the Due South fandom, and it's wonderful. Fraser's father, dead!Bob, is stalking Ray. He's trying to play Cupid in his own demented way, but Ray's too busy freaking out about the dead guy who keeps showing up to give any serious thought to the "queer" thing.
