Why this vid kicks ass:
Because the vidder community has some unique ownership issues, it’s important that reccers be extra careful when making vid recs. Depending on the vidder’s preferences regarding public access to their work, please link your rec in the appropriate manner:
1. If the video is publicly accessible, direct link to the web page the vid is linked on, or if it’s the vidder’s request, to the HTML splash page of their site.
or…
2. Link to the site with instructions on acquiring the password, if the site is protected – do not reveal the password yourselves.
or…
3. Provide contact info for the vidder if their vids are only available privately (tapes, dvd-R’s, collections, etc.).
Do not:
Hotlink, i.e. link directly to the video file rather than the webpage.
Re-upload videos that a vidder has removed from the web.
Delay in removing a vid rec if requested to do so by the vidder.

Once you're past the initial premise, there's often not much to hold the interest. This fic is not like that. It's a genderswap done with care and consideration for the real consequences of suddenly finding yourself a member of the other gender. What does it do to your body, your balance, your moods, your whole sense of self? And when you have a job that requires you to be as physically active as a Jedi must be, how do you adapt when your body is suddenly different? Wednesday asks all these questions with style and consideration (and compassion for poor Obi-Wan's predicament--and also for Qui-Gon's). Until now. It's a gentle, sweet, bizarre story in which Abby is, well... able to change from being one of the best forensic experts in the US into being a cat. An adorably cute black one, it has to be said, but still a cat. Proof, like you needed it, that Farscape and Stargate: Atlantis aren't the only ones who do cracked out! There are more stories out there (they seem to turn up on the fandom's flashfic comm on a seemingly regular basis) co-authored with skripka but for now, I am reccing this one. Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean Title: Outlaws and Inlaws Pairing: Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth Swann/Will Turner Author on LJ: artaxastraAuthor Website: Outlaws, Aliens, and MutantsWhy this must be read: The fandom was (to put it mildly) taken aback by some of the developments in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Things were left at loose ends, and loose ends that were rather frayed and unraveling at that. ( AWEsome spoilers under the cut... ) It had to be fixed! And that's what many of us have been trying to do for the last two months, but none (I believe) as successfully and beautifully as artaxastra with her Outlaws and Inlaws series. The story, which is mostly told from Elizabeth's pov, fits perfectly with canon, elaborating on implied backstory as well as taking the characters to new, satisfying places. ( Excerpt )artaxastra is a gifted writer, and I would gladly rec any of her work, though her Pirates of the Caribbean stories are, of course, my favorites. Superb characterizations, knowledge of both canon and historical detail, and the right blend of drama and comedy: it's all there. Her Outlaws and Inlaws series is a WIP, though I feel each part can be read and enjoyed on its own merits. Here are the stories to date: The Swan in Flight, Outlaws and Inlaws, Four Days of Advent, Cradle Tales, and Dream Tides. Additionally, she has done a commentary track for Cradle Tales, which is itself one of the most beautiful and unusual stories I've ever read. I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I have! | | |

Also, Cuddy gets knocked up. The dialogue is great, the snark is just right, and it's long enough to merit two posts. It's a great story -- and I would say that even if I hadn't had the privilege of beta reading it :) Here's a small excerpt: Wilson flinched, ever so slightly. "It's a big deal to me," he said, in a small voice. "It's okay if it's a big deal to you, so long as you admit it's a big deal."
"Why do you want me to think it's a big deal?" House asked.
"I didn't say I wanted you to think that it's a big deal, I said it was okay if you did!" Wilson ran a hand through his hair. "If it is, we can talk about it-"
