So it's hard to write fic that deals with that balance, of John and Evan being hot for each other, and at the same time being the responsible, too-practical guys we see in canon. The author manages it by having the sex thing begin before the coworker thing, and if the sex keeps going after that, well. John was never *that* fond of the rules. Events run their own lovely, logical line in ths story, keeping the sex reasonable and the guys guy-y, while still managing to be unexpectedly romantic. A week later, Lorne’s gone, no explanation. John gets a letter eventually, saying that he’s been re-posted to the deep space telemetry project in Colorado, which John can completely see needing pilots, and that he’s going to be out of the country a lot, and hard to get in touch with.Across State Lines | | |

Teyla pregnancy!fics are for some reason *awesome*. Because Teyla may be the kick-ass warrior chick we all know and lust after, but in the Pegasus Galaxy family and babies would be hugely important as well, and Teyla would approach that challenge as gracefully as she does any other. (And apparently the key word this month is going to be "balance"). The author nails Teyla's voice (we all know who's really in charge, I think), the team's honest, caring worry for her, *and* manages to bring the cute. Squishy, cuddly, pregancy!fic warmth! Without the gross aftertaste. No, trust me. "My position on John's team is not compromised, I hope?" asked Teyla.
"As long as you have regular medical exams, and Carson or Dr. Biro approve, I don't see why it would be," said Elizabeth. "We'll revisit the issue when you get too big to move properly."

Hi, I'm zillah and I'll be driving the van for House this month! I've been reading off and on in this fandom for almost two years, but it's only recently that I've declared my undying love for it as anything but a side fandom. These days I search for House/Chase fic that I haven't read and read House/Wilson to slake my thirst. *g* However, I've got a handful of recs that are pretty varied, including this first one.Fandom: House Pairing: Foreman/Chase Author on LJ: simmyschtuffAuthor Website: LJ Memories for House, MD ficWhy this must be read: There's not a lot of fic that features a strong Foreman point of view and this one does that. It shows how Foreman sees Chase both at this particular moment (a party in Cuddy's backyard that they are forced to attend) and in general. Foreman's view of the world in general feels very detached in this fic and only the sex seems to penetrate that detachment. He's more than aware then and his detachment in the first part of the fic turns to a wonderfully hot sex scene where Foreman is determined to make Chase feel everything that Foreman himself only recently became aware of. Hi, I'm AJ and I'm your purveyor of Star Wars Prequels recs this month. Back in February of 2006, I posted a rather large list of recs on LJ for adult-rated stories with Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan as the main pairing, but I haven't updated it since and it's about time I did. This month I'll be sharing some of my favourite additions to the list. Fandom: Star Wars Prequels Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi Author on LJ: heartofslash Author Website: Heart of Slash Why this must be read: What really sells a fandom to me is the stuff it can offer that other fandoms can't. There's a whole lot of scope in this one for unusual clothing-related kinks, and Haleth Haladin has a whole series, but I'm particularly partial to braid kink and I think it's a SWP avenue worthy of exploration.
