07:14 am WRITTEN ON THE SKIN by Louise Lux and Emungere [NC17]
Fandom: Saiyuki
Title: Written on the Skin
Pairing: [post-Even a Worm Arc] Hakkai/Gojyo
Author: Louise Lux [livejournal.com profile] louiselux and Eleanor K. [livejournal.com profile] emungere
Website: Consequence Free.
Rating: NC 17.

Why this fic must be read:

Both Louise Lux and Emungere are accomplished authors in their own right, but together they have one of the most successful collaborative writing partnerships in the fandom. They ship Hakkai/Gojyo and capture voice and character detailing perfectly, an accomplishment because it is very easy for writers to go over-the-top with elements like Hakkai's inherent instability or Gojyo's impaired judgments. In this story, Gojyo's impaired judgment turns unexpectedly lucky and he ends up with a special tattoo.

Fandom: STARSKY AND HUTCH
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch

Why this must be read:

This story is my favorite follow-up to The Fix, and it may be my favorite Molo story, ever. The way Hutch struggles to overcome what happened to him will break your heart and make you cheer all at the same time.

05:13 pm Starring Mr. Ianto Jones as Himself by basingstoke (NC-17)
Fandom: TORCHWOOD
Pairing: Jack/Ianto
Length: ~2700
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] basingstoke
Author's Website: snogging puppets
Why this must be read:

Bas brilliantly anticipates the snarkier Ianto we saw in season 2, and man, is he hot:

"Take your clothes off," Ianto said.

"Pushy," Jack said.

"I just bought those, I don't want to wash them, take them off." Ianto ran his hands up under the jumper.

"I like pushy," Jack said.

Ianto played rugby all through school. He wasn't delicate; he wasn't prissy, nor even naturally tidy. He'd learned to be controlled and quiet and precise, because it was extremely useful, but sometimes... well, sometimes it wasn't, especially when he'd just saved the entire fucking world with his hands and the bruises on his back.

07:46 pm Snow, by Dasha (NC17)
Fandom: HIGHLANDER
Characters: Duncan/ Methos/ Joe (and various other pairings/ permutations)
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] dashamte
Author Website: Dasha's Fan Fiction; also on lj
Why this must be read: After Connor's death, Duncan's friends come together for him. And then some. This is not a love story, in the traditional sense; it's more about friendship than romance. Or maybe it's more about family than friendship--because all Immortals are orphans, and the families they have are the families they create. But it's a lovely, lovely story however you read it, whatever you're looking for. It's heartbreaking and hot and glorious, in turns.

Fandom: HARRY POTTER
Pairing: Harry/Ron/Hermione
Length: 9,000 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] tattooedsiren
Author Website: Master fic list
Why this must be read: It takes seventy days secluded away from the world for Harry, Ron and Hermione to figure out their feelings towards each other. I like this story because it takes it slow, and individually, starting with couples, flitting around the question of a threesome right up until the end.

Fandom: HARRY POTTER
Pairing: Harry/Ron/Hermione
Length: long

Author Website: Author page @ The Quidditch Pitch
Why this must be read: This fic goes down as a classic in my book! Ron and Hermione have welcomed Harry into their home and their bed, but the war and loss of Ginny have made Harry way too insecure and broken to be sure of his place in their relationship, impending fatherhood, and his general sanity. And I'm really not doing full justice to the plot with my clunky description, it's really moving and interesting. Major Harry angst ahoy! The characterization is great, love the writing style and the heartbreaking angst.

09:23 pm Au Clair De La Lune by Mary Parker (PG?)
Fandom: THE X-FILES
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Length: one-shot
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] leiascully
Author Website: http://tooms.gossamer.org/author/15725-1.html
Why this must be read:

Out of a host of good post-Hollywood AD fic, this is one of my favorites. Some glamour, a date, dancing, but it is both serious and sexy. Definitely worth a read.

The moon was etched sharply against the massive shoreline sky and the clear light made Mulder's hair look spikier than usual. It had never struck Scully before how much the dark points looked like a cityscape: her Mulder with the world in his head and the extra thoughts colonizing his scalp.
