Hi, everyone! I'm Zulu, and the wheel of this van looks strangely familiar--though that could be the crack talking. Yep, I'm back, and this month I'll be focusing on the rare Fs of House fandom: Foreman and femslash, both always in need of more love. Let's get this party started!

Fandom: HOUSE MD
Pairing: Gen, could be read as House/Foreman
Length: 3000 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] mercaque
Author Website: http://mercaque.livejournal.com/
Why this must be read:

I love the dynamic between House and Foreman in this fic. Foreman fights against everything House says, but sometimes, his resistance isn't as strong as he likes--for instance, when he's sick and House offers him a ride home. This story shows some fallout from Euphoria, as well as a characterization for House that I like best: caring while doing his damnedest not to show it.

11:44 am Certitude by Justin Glasser (R)
Hello! I am [livejournal.com profile] wendelah1, your June driver for The X-Files. Although my preference is for gen, I will read anything if it is well-written. I like interesting plots, rather than character-driven pieces, and I'll choose angst over romance every time. I plan to recommend a wide variety of stories this month for your reading pleasure.

Fandom: THE X-FILES
Pairing: none, Mulder/Scully UST
Length: 106k
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] synchronik
Author Website: The Works of Justin Glasser, for TXF, and Joe's Eats and Christian Bookshop, for everything else.
Why this must be read:

Like many of the series' myth-arc stories, Fight the Future had a big fat plot-hole in it just waiting for the fan fiction writers. This is a gripping tale that provides one possible answer to what happened in Antarctica after Mulder and Scully were taken off the ice. What if the Syndicate had set-up Scully's abduction and engineered their rescue? What if their "rescue" turned out to be something else instead, something far more sinister, something far more evil?

02:06 pm Shadow of a Doubt by Nickovetch (G)
Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE
Pairing: gen
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] nickovetch
Author website: Nickovetch's Stories
Why this must be read:

It's not a real Cold War spy series without double agents and triple crosses and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy-style molehunts, and the MFU fandom's got plenty of these. Illya's ambiguous citizenship status makes him a prime candidate during these schemes that often run into "let's scapegoat the pinko commie" territory, but Nickovetch weaves a taught and gripping tale, sprinkled with a cast of believable OC UNCLE staffers, that'll leave you guessing until the end as to who's the real traitor. As fascinating as the plot is as we watch our two spy guys unravel the mystery, this story sheds insight into the strength of Napoleon and Illya's partnership and the nature of their loyalty to each other and UNCLE. Their dedication never wavers even amidst the paranoia, but it's their fundamental concern for the welfare of the other balanced with seeing their mission to its difficult end that makes them the best that UNCLE has.

04:23 pm Eurymedon's Chariot by ingrid_m (not rated, but call it PG)
Hello, all! *waves* I'm [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe and I'm your driver for the month of June.

Fandom: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA 2003
Pairing: none (features Gaeta, Helo, and Dee)
Length: about 2,500 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] ingrid_m
Author website: none listed
Why this must be read:

Set just post "Collaborators" in s3, this glimpse into what Felix Gaeta went through upon his return to the Galactica is at turns poignant, hope-filled, and occasionally humorous. Gaeta's and Dee's characterizations are spot-on, but I would expect no less from Ingrid, and she has a real understanding of Helo, too. It's not difficult to see and hear the scenes play out as you read, which is always a joy when you find that in a fic.
