Fandom: WEISS KREUZ Pairing: Youji/Aya Length: 4k-ish Author on LJ: utopiantrunks Author Website: East of SanityThis is one of the funniest fics in this fandom I have ever read. Omi and Youji have a casual conversation about some of Omi's friends which lead up to a discussion of sex. Youji tries to play it cool and be open and supportive while battling to keep his true hentai nature to a minimum. Utopian Trunks writes Youji's imagination gone wild in a humorous and believable way. For any adult who has ever tried to have a frank and nonjudgmental conversation with a teenager about sex, this story is a must read. The ex-detective waved a hand dismissively before his face, as much to fan himself as to dispel the boy's worries. "You just... surprised me, is all," he prided himself in managing a fairly even tone on that one. Now what was the next thing you were supposed to remember...? Um... 'Take advantage of their trust and find out everything!!' No, wait, that can't have been it... "So, um... you been doing this for long?"Why Kids Shouldn't Talk To Grown-Ups About Sex

Fandom: WEISS KREUZ Pairing: Aya, OMC Length: 5,500 Author on LJ: viridian5Author Website: The Green RoomAya goes under cover on a solo mission. The Author's own words, "Kritiker doesn't always treat its weapons kindly" sums up my feelings for the whole anime and not just this fic. This story shows just how callous and impersonal Kritker is towards its assets and how little thought goes into the after effect of such missions. Viridian5 shows us what really drive Aya and just what he will really do to protect his sister. Think Like A Gun

Fandom: Due South Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski Author on LJ: dirty_dianaAuthor Website: Due SouthWhy this must be read:I'm aware that it might sound strange - wing!fic! Yes, one of the guys has wings; you think that is strange? Nah, we're talking DUE SOUTH here and everything is possible. When you get over the wing-part you will discover the sweetness of this. Go on and try! Fraser's still got his arm around me, stroking me with sweet slow fingers against a hard ridge of feathers, drawing goosebumps on my skin, making it hard to concentrate. I don't remember ever being touched there before.
He frowns. "They're beautiful," he says. "I've never...well, I've never met an angel before, Ray.
I try not to laugh at him, but I don't quite make it, a strangled sound that gets caught in my chest. "I'm not an angel," I tell him.
He blinks at me. "It seems logical, Ray. You have wings. Angels have wings. Well, birds have wings too, but..." Graceless

Fandom: DOCTOR WHO Pairing: None (Gen: Jack, mentions of Ten and Simm!Master) Length: One-shot Author on LJ: morgan52xAuthor Website: Tag listWhy this must be read:The majority of fics set during The Year That Never Was seems to focus either on Martha's walk across the world or the Doctor's time as the Master's hostage. This one focuses on Jack Harkness's detainment inside the Vailiant, and it is not an easy read. He is tortured, killed and brought back over and over again, his spirit broken. And if the last line doesn't about make you feel for him, nothing will. This is Jack Harkness, unofficial Captain of the Innuendo Squad, only now morgan52x is showing us him at his most vulnerable, in a place only he knows, in a pain only he can experience. Go on, read this story and see life during The Year That Never Was through the eyes of Captain Jack. These children are lucky. They have never experienced a real nightmare world. Only dark dreams that haunt their subconscious.
Jack knows what a real nightmare world is.
A world full of pain and sacrifice. A world full of suffering and death.Run, Child Run

Fandom: DOCTOR WHO Pairing: Ace/Shou Yuing; Seven Length: 1800 Author on LJ: ionlylurkhereAuthor Website: Teaspoon profile (Whofic archive)Why this must be read:Set during the serial Battlefield, you may be quick to think of it as only femmeslash; in which case, you'd be very very wrong. In so few words, the author has taken up threads of thought that have been present throughout the series so far -- Ace's progress in finding herself, the Doctor's role as Time's Champion and in his own future, the two of them settling this odd relationship between them -- and wraps them up into a story which highlights the things that make the Seventh Doctor's era what it is, along with showing why a story like Battlefield is so important in the personal canon of Seven and Ace and their collective effect on the universe. Fandom: MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin Length: 5k Author on LJ: crimsonquillsAuthor Website: Her MfU fic can be found here on her website Crimson QuillsWhy this must be read:After the Worst asks what do Napoleon and Illya believe is the worst way a mission can fail. The answer wasn't at all what I expected, and I was also surprised by how Napoleon and Illya comforted each other afterward. However, such is the persuasive power of Nix's elegant prose, this story hit me with the force of a revelation. Even if you don't find this vision of an established relationship universe as compelling as I did, I'm certain that you will agree that After the Worst is an insightful and poignant story, well worth reading. Fandom: POPSLASH Pairing: Joey/Kevin Author on LJ: lucyloooAuthor Website: http://lucy-fic.livejournal.com/Why this must be read:Just for a change, here's a pairing that virtually never happens in fic. Why is that, anyway? Joey's trying to relax, late at night, and goes swimming in the hotel pool, only to discover that there's someone else relaxing too. Written way back in 2001, it starts out cool and collected, just Joey and his thoughts. Then, hothot sex. Good stuff. ( A little sample )Water

Fandom: JANE AUSTEN (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE) Pairing: George Wickham/Fitzwilliam Darcy Length: 3000 words Author on LJ: unkown Author Website: Malini's stories at DWG. Why this must be read:So now we come back from the typical to the atypical. There's precious few slash stories in this fandom; so when I say this is the best slash story out there, it appears to mean little. That is not so. This is an excellent, wholly disturbing story, which effortlessly makes us see canon in whole new light without changing anything of it but the pov. This is also a believable Wickham's pov--for that alone an unique story worth a read. Malini's body of work is big, varied, and almost uniformly good, but this is without a doubt one of my favourites stories from her. Profanation of our joys
