Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: 3.377 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] merryish; [personal profile] merryish
Author Website: At AO3; AnyRoad
Why this must be read:

Ah, this is one of those stories where nothing happens to bring them together: no external threat, no sudden revelation in the face of danger, no loss-induced introspection. Just the two of them, aware of their love, willing to go further, and taking the decision to do it. During a camping trip. =D
The slow pace of this is what really got me; there is no rush, no desperation, only trust, tenderness, certainty and love. They both know where are they going, they know they are already going, so... why run?
The writing is perfect, soothing and warm and beautiful.

Fandom: COMMUNITY
Pairing: Troy/Annie
Length: 6K
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] fearlessfan
Author Website: on LJ; on AO3
Why this must be read:
When the show premiered, one of the big relationships they started with was Troy and Annie, who went to high school together but on very different ends of the social spectrum. Annie's unrequited crush on Troy was fodder for some of her earliest character development, and his as well, as he moved from clueless jock to clueless geek!jock (and Abed BFF). I love this fic because it's a fantastic take on Annie's determination to get over that crush while he's finally waking up to the idea, as well as a showcase for wonderful voices from the rest of the group.

Hi. I’m [livejournal.com profile] alizarin_nyc and I’m the Sherlock BBC driver for [livejournal.com profile] crack_van this month. I got a late start because I couldn’t find my keys, couldn’t remember where I’d parked and had no money for gas. Apologies.

Why this must be read:

In short, Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective and Fashion Model. You're intrigued, right? Yes, Sherlock was a fashion model at one point, and when John discovers this he is quite intrigued as well. This story by the masterful [livejournal.com profile] innie_darling isn't just crack however, there are also utterly gorgeous details about the inner lives of both Sherlock and John. Not to mention really pretty descriptions of Sherlock, if you like that sort of thing. Read and enjoy!

I can't say too much about this lovely little story, except to say that the imagery is powerful and she summed it up in the summary as "Sometimes we all need a place to hide". It's full of wonderful angst.

Why this must be read:

Blind Light is a story set in the beginning of Return of the Jedi, when Han is blinded after being frozen in carbonite, trapped in darkness and pain. But he's not alone, because Luke is locked in the same prison cell. This beautiful story tells us how they try to feel their way out of darkness and blindness together.

Why this must be read:

This is a tricky rec to make, because almost anything substantive I could say would be spoilery on some level. So I'll just say that this story fits into the post-CoE fix-it genre, yet is in a class by itself.

Because certain storytellers just have that extra something going for them. ;)
