Fandom:STAR WARS Length: 677 words Characters: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn Author on LJ: destinaAuthor Website: Links to storiesWhy this must be read:Destina's talent in fandom spans drama, romance, comedy, the works -- and this story twists the reader around its little finger. You'll read and come to a conclusion. You'll be off base. You'll savor the story anyway, as it contains an Easter egg, of the video game sort. I Heard You Calling

Fandom: GUNDAM WING Pairing: Heero/Duo Length: 1,974 words Author on LJ: krackenAuthor Website: Personal WebsiteWhy this must be read: Now for a bit of laughter. Duo's and Heero's coworkers gather around the water cooler and gossip about our favorite pilots. The gossip has a very dirty flavor and soon there is fantasizing with rose petals, silk sheets, and hair everywhere! What makes this so funny is how close this piece comes to real life. In anime conventions in the past, I've overheard conversations very similar. About how this pilot looks good with this pilot and OMG, doesn't Duo's hair look awesome! I burst out laughing at these memories and Ms. Kracken's character voices as Duo's and Heero's coworkers were brought to blushes and hot-and-bothered-ness by their imaginations. And Duo interrupting them! XD I think my cackling was heard a few counties other. Definitely a fun fic to read to get over the angst of the previous two. By the Water Cooler

Fandom:STARSKY and HUTCH Pairing:none Length:long Author on LJ:unknownAuthor Website:http://m.fanfiction.net/u/592153/ Why this must be read: Starsky and Hutch end up in an Arizona prison. The author has this posted before this story "WARNING Angst" and I love angst. I'm always amazed at all the ways writers can torture the guys and when I come across a really new and interesting torture, I want to share it with the SH world. Poor Hutch, he gets to be the tortured and Starsky gets to be the tortured too because he suffers when Hutch suffers and then he gets to comfort. Oh, one more thing, I love a good prison fic and this one has them working on a chain gang, so that's another reason to read this story. Enjoy! Chain gang

Better known for writing The Professionals, Draycevixen pretty much sticks the landing with anything she writes, though I'll admit to bias... Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE Pairing: Illya/Napoleon Length: 500 Words Author on LJ: draycevixenAuthor Website: find more at AO3 Why this must be read: These five small moments string together a lifetime worth of story with just enough flash and colour to tantalize the reader through the door and into a world of imagination... and then start us all over again when we see where a second chance might lead. Fandom: COMICS (Iron Man movieverse and DC comicsverse) Pairing: none Length: 5,504 words Author on LJ: galaxysoupAuthor Website: galaxysoup on AO3Why this must be read:Tony finds out that sidekicks have a slightly lower mortality rate than wise-cracking bestfriends through his "research" into comic books, so he finds someone to train Pepper to be his sidekick (no, she will NOT let him call her Iron Maiden). This story is fantastic because it is so true to every character. The author gently makes fun of the standard comics tropes while at the same time staying within their bounds, making this a lovely story with layers to it. She never actually states WHO Alvin Draper is, but if you have read DC you should know, which gives this story a delicious undercurrent -- so many things left implied, and yet you still come away from the story satisfied. Do give this story a try, it's fantastic! On the Care and Feeding of Superheroes, by Pepper Potts and Alvin Draper by galaxysoup

Fandom: THE SENTINEL Pairing: Jim/Blair Length: 45350 words Author on LJ: Not known Author Website: http://www.therentgirls.com/TS.html Why this must be read: - In this AU, Blair is a medical doctor working in jungle territory, opening new clinics in different parts of the world, but he has to keep going back to America to do fund-raising tours (which he hates). He's working mostly with coastal tribes, but then one day in Borneo he is kidnapped by men from a more inland tribe; and while tending the chief's wife in their village, he meets a strange blue-eyed native - the Watchman for the tribe. This world has been well and lovingly developed. In true AU style, use is made of a lot of the characters from canon, and they're all totally recognizable in their new roles. The OCs are believable and blend in nicely. There are misunderstandings, some outright lies, reconciliations - everything that makes for a great story. Pennies for the Jungle
