Why this must be read: For ethics and realism.

Summary Blair returns from a trip to NYC and witnesses a plane crash.

We kick off discovering why Blair’s heading home (alone) after an overnight flight from NYC and roll smoothly into a dramatic, action packed tale about heroism, human nature (both its strengths and flaws) and how one major event can make someone reevaluate what’s important in their lives. Debbie taps into humanity at a base level and shows us how pre-determined perceptions can be changed when people see the ‘true’ nature of a person shine through; when they’re no longer influenced by what they see in the media. It’s that realism and how it plays out that really draws me into this story. This is a great mix of action, drama, angst, courage and ultimately, respect.

Why this must be read:

Does just what it says on the tin, in ways clever, hilarious, and endearing, and superbly in character for each of the Avengers, but without resorting to the usual fighty-fighty.

An excerpt:

"Does space make people really angry? Does the capability for travel between solar systems encourage violent behavior? Do they hate jazz music or something? Because these people, I swear, they need some Sesame Street remedial lessons in getting the fuck along."

"I'd watch that," he heard Tony say. "Clint Barton guest stars on Sesame Street, in a segment PBS calls Getting the Fuck Along. I'd make a major donation to public television for that. I wonder how much I'd have to give them to get them to do a beeped out fuck on Sesame Street."

"Hey, I'd totally do the cameo if we could shoot the sketch into space at the genocidal aliens," Clint replied.

"I have satellites," Tony said. "And I'm sure I know a guy who knows a guy at the Muppets. I could get you Grover."

"Not Kermit?"

"Grover's big right now, so I hear."

Why this must be read:

This story brings a moment of quiet to two warriors, each burdened with the cost of war upon their souls. As they meet and immerse themselves in contemplation and simple camaraderie, the war fades and they rest. A compelling story, one which whets the appetite for the upcoming fifth, final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars beginning next month.

Why this must be read:

If I had to choose one fic to see happen on the show, it would be this fic. This is my perfect headcanon for the show, and one of my favorite fics - I probably end up rereading it once every week and a half or so. It's absolutely amazing. I mean, just look at the summary:

A story about the transcendent, giddy highs that come with diving headfirst into a love affair with exactly the right person.

I can't really verbalize how awesome this fic is, but trust me - it is. It's got everything from sweet domestic moments to drama, and then there's the porn, which is completely integral to the plot... You might want to have a glass of ice water nearby for this one. Oh, and make sure you've got some time to read it - you won't want to put it down.
