09:39 pm Dark Days by Twinkledru J (PG-13)
Fandom: STAR WARS
Pairing(s): Leia/Luke/Han
Length: 6k words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] greenspaces
Author Website: Stories
Why this must be read:

Leia's grief is a fearsome thing and we see next to none of it in the OT. Forbidding displays of sorrow seem to be the norm for the Skywalker twins, Luke for his aunt and uncle and Leia for her adoptive parents and entire world. But on the way to the new Hoth base, Leia's tedium gives her the next thing to a vacation that she's had in years, and she uses it to relax, and perhaps gain insights to her traveling companions. It can only do her some good.

10:55 pm Lady In Red, by windchijmes (Explicit)
Fandom: THE HOBBIT
Pairing: Dwalin/Thorin
Length: 9,401 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] wind_chijmes
Author Website: windchijmes.net and windchijmes on AO3
Why this must be read:

"Dwalin and Thorin are travelling together, and they find themselves in a ridiculous situation where Thorin has to disguise himself as a woman at a tavern. The effect is more interesting than they both expect - Thorin is openly leered at and propositioned and he fumes about it, while Dwalin enjoys himself playing the big, bad protector of his lady's innocence. But of course, the tension gets too much."

It starts in Dwalin's point of view, the middle part is Thorin's, and the last part is Dwalin -- and that really makes the story work, ratcheting the tension and making the emotional connection as important as the sexual connection.
