Fandom: TRON Pairing: Junior/Sam Length: 1,100 words Author on LJ: igrabAuthor Website: the_grrrridWhy this must be read: Cillian Murphy’s uncredited cameo in TRON: Legacy as Edward Dillinger, Jr., led to a lot of questions: Why is he at ENCOM, and not Dillinger Systems? Is he as hostile as his barbed exchange with Alan Bradley would imply? Does he have any kind of relationship with Sam Flynn? Here’s one possible answer (one Disney is unlikely to pursue, more’s the pity): "Got anything important going on?"
There was something in his voice. Sam's voice was always deep and rich, like chocolate, and when he spoke to Junior, there was usually a little husky burr of affection, but this - it was slow, drawled out, kind of distant. Junior frowned.
"Not... specifically," he said carefully...
There was a breathy - shaky - sigh. Then, on the other end of the line, Sam muttered, "Good."
It was a wicked sort of 'good'. It was a 'good' that had intentions. Because whose day isn’t better for a little straight up, PWP phone sex? “Off the Hook”

Fandom: TRON Pairing: Lora/Yori, refs to Alan/Lora, Alan/Tron Length: 761 words Author on LJ: winzlerAuthor Website: http://whatistigerbalm.dreamwidth.org/Why this must be read: There are a lot of TRON AU fanfics in which Kevin Flynn shares the secret of the Electronic World with his closest friends. This charming, saucy vignette focuses on Lora Baines, during her first visit inside the system. Lora gave herself a mental kick. She was a scientist, for cripes sakes! "Is that what my butt looks like" was not the first thing that should've come to mind when she saw, really saw the program she wrote for the laser. She should've marveled at the metaphysical processes that allowed her to be there, not eye the thighs on her digital counterpart and bite her tongue so as not to ask Yori to twirl around. Along with the cheerfully bawdy comedy, winzler works in some striking images as Lora observes how various test subjects (fruit, mice, a swarm of bees) manifest in digital space. But it's definitely Yori and Tron ("Eyes upwards, Lora. Keep. Eyes. Up.") who make the biggest impression. "Experiment"

Fandom: TRON Pairing: gen (Quorra/Sam UST) Length: 660 words Author on LJ: humansrsuperiorAuthor Website: Warnings: mild spoilers for LegacyWhy this must be read: Early in Legacy, during Alan Bradley’s visit, the audience is treated to a lovely shot of Sam Flynn’s bruised back and shoulders. In this story, it’s Quorra’s turn to see. “Are they... Are these bruises?” her soft voice came from behind him, and she sounded enthralled.
“Yeah,” he answered, distracted by the way she was tracing the shape of one mark over his skin. He shivered.
It was a moment before she said anything, and when she did, it was an almost-whisper. “They’re beautiful.” This is a sensuous story about Quorra’s fundamentally alien nature and her relationship with the very, very human Sam. “Beauty Marks”

Fandom: TRON Pairing: Jordan/Kevin Length: 409 words Author on LJ: citiesfallingAuthor Website: the_grrrridWhy this must be read: Jordan Canas: architect, daughter, mother, wife. We don’t get much of her in canon — her husband Kevin’s memories, some pictures in the ARG, and a few panels in TRON: Betrayal. Luckily, fanfic is there to fill the gap. She gets what she needs out of him. She does not need a jealous boyfriend to fight people when men tell her that she'd look great in a skirt and blouse instead of her jeans and t-shirt. She knows the value of her body, and she loves it, and she will wear whatever makes her feel comfortable and not give a damn what others say or think. She does not need someone to mansplain to her how good she is at what she does. She is entirely aware of how talented she is, and she knows exactly how hard she worked for it. She does not need to be the little woman. If Jordan was anything like the woman in this character sketch, it’s a pity we didn’t get to spend more time with her. “Two for Four”

Fandom: TRON Pairing: gen (ref to Alan/Kevin) Length: 1.3K words Author on LJ: hey_giffyAuthor Website: the_grrrrid, “a comm for the shared Tron universe(s) of igrab, citiesfalling, hey_giffy, and sleepygreeny.” Why this must be read:During his grandmother’s last days, Sam Flynn is living in Alan Bradley’s basement — not the most promising set-up for comedy, I know, but then Alan, while tidying, finds something in Sam’s bed and decides that he and the teenager need to have a conversation: “Look, Alan, it's fine. Really. I've got a box of- uh- things. In case I need them. They glow in the dark, too- my friends called them trondoms.” Another pause followed. “.... I am... not entirely sure why I told you that.” Sam said slowly, carefully. hey_giffy manages to pack a lot into this story: the awkwardness of The Talk for both parties in the discussion; the lingering pain caused by Kevin Flynn’s disappearance; the different nature of that loss for Sam and Alan (father vs. friend (and here, lover)); and the fact that for both men, time has passed, and they’ve found a measure of happiness. “Like Father, Like Son”

Fandom: TRON Pairing: Kevin/Ram/Tron Length: ~2K words Author on LJ: ani_coolgirlAuthor Website: ani_coolgirl on AO3Why this must be read:I’m not sure if I saw TRON during its original theatrical run, but if I did, I was far too young to appreciate Dan Shor, Jeff Bridges, and Bruce Boxleitner in skintight circuit suits. As an adult, I got a lot more out of the scene in which our heroes get stoned refresh themselves at an energy pool — and that was before I read this scorching rewrite, inspired by a prompt at the tronkinkmeme: Close your eyes. And listen to the scene take on a whoooole neeeew context. It's especialy [sic] awesome if you can listen with headphones so you can really hear all the quiet gasps and pants between the splashing and Tron's murmur of 'Oh that's nice' and the giggling, and contented humming ... that's what I want! hot splashing energizing sex in liquid energy with giggly Flynn and Ram and a Tron that's gone all toppy now that he remembers 'how good the power feels' To quote Ram, “ That, is just what I need, right now.” “Respite in a Spring,” as posted on the tronkinkmeme and at AO3.

Fandom: TRON/THE BIG LEBOWSKI Pairing: gen, refs to canon pairings Length: Author on LJ: coyotegothAuthor Website: n/a Why this must be read:The author came up with a simple, brilliant premise — while in the laser bay, Kevin Flynn runs into Jeff Lebowski, making a special delivery — and ran with it, to hysterical result. ( “Hey, how do you spell 'flotilla'?” the Dude asked. ) Amazingly, the story gets funnier as it goes along, with the Dude struggling to maintain his mellowness and his User abilities manifesting in unusual (but probably inevitable) ways. “The Ballad of El Userino”

Fandom: TRON Pairing: gen Length: 1,481 words Author on LJ: omorkaAuthor Website: omorka_ficsSpoilers: character rerezzing Why this must be read:The author summarizes this story as Kevin Flynn tries to clean up the mess after taking control of ENCOM. Canon glosses over what exactly happened when Kevin Flynn returned to the company and presents his rise to power as a fait accompli: in one scene he’s whooping it up in the laser bay, and the next he’s disembarking from the ENCOM helicopter. This charming story fills in some of the gaps, as Kevin starts repairing the damage done by Dillinger and the MCP, and Tron and Yori witness the results. [NOTE: The fic has been slightly jossed, since one key character had not yet been named in canon.] “Raised Up" on AO3.

[WOW, I thought I’d never get this done. Actually, I’ll be doing some tweaking in the coming days, but the text is finished and the HTML tables work (more or less), so...]
Greetings, Programs! A User’s Guide to TRON IntroductionWhat is TRON? As of the summer of 2011, it is a multimedia franchise based on the idea that there is another plane of existence hidden inside computers: “the Electronic World” or “the Grid,” a tangible, luminous digital realm in which sentient Programs live as autonomous beings, subject to the commands of the human Users who create them and give them purpose. It’s a premise that lends itself to philosophizing: What is life? Where do we draw the line between virtual and actual, simulation and reality? What constitutes identity? How much can someone change before becoming someone — or something — else? How far should we go in the pursuit of our desires? Can perfection exist, and would we recognize it? Or, if that’s too heavy: TRON is a cult SF classic turned pop culture touchstone that showcases — ( The Pretty )and ( The Shiny )And there’s this guy.
