Why this must be read:

There are a lot of fics that gloss over what goes on with T'Pring in Amok Time. Specifically, they gloss over that she was only allowed to divorce Spock by challenge, and that T'Pau asked her if she was prepared to become the property of the victor. Many fanfic writers like to explain those statements away, and say they're not really what's going on.

This story is not about T'Pring, but it is about a society where those really are T'Pring's options. The idea of women being the property of their husbands, and unable to request divorce for themselves -- these are concepts that modern women tend to reject. Many writers have difficulty imagining a society as advanced as the Vulcans having such, to us, outdated principles.

One of the great things about this story, though, is that Amanda struggles with it just as much. I struggled with those ideas in Amok Time as well, and then I read this fic and my view was transformed. Amanda's struggles were my struggles, and then I saw how she came to the conclusion she did, and understood how she made it.

This fic takes difficult, challenging concepts, and makes them make sense for the people they involve. It also shows how pon farr really can shape an entire society.

This is now my personal head canon and it will absolutly break your heart. It looks at Gene's childhood and what could have caused his addiction to alcohol in the future. Even though Gene is a kid, he is still perfectly in character and you can see so clearly why he became the man we all know and love even if it is deeply upsetting to see how it happened.  The fic deals senstively with some very dark and disturbing circumstances that are referenced in the show but not deeply explored.

It is also fern_tree 's first fanfic (even though she has been established in the fandom for her fanart for a couple of years), and what an amazing start it is.

Why this is a must read:

Another Gene backstory rec from me, but it goes in a very different dirrection to the last. It focuses on Gene as a teenager during world war two. This is the only fic with an original character paired with Gene that I find believable and the Original character adding so much to the story while keeping it completley believable that it could have been canon.

It shows Gene struggling to cope with his sexual desires and how he deals with a side to him that is unaccepted by society, the way he deals with it is seen althrough the series making it a believable backstory to how he came to learn that behaviour in the first place. It's a very sad fic, filled with heartache, emptyness and lonelyness but with some very warm emotional moments thrown in as Gene struggles to grow up and become the man we see in Life on Mars.

Why this must be read:

Well written, extremely hot smut that involves Gene's leather Gloves, a slutty Sam, dirty talk and a not as in control as he would like to be Gene. A must read for anyone who is into adult Sam/Gene fics, if you don't already have a leather glove kink you will do by the end of this. The sex is very incharacter for the pairing, it's not lovey-dovey nor is it gentle at times but is consentual and you feel a large amount of warmth and affection between the characters with their banter and teasing that hints at the deep connection between the two men you see in the series. I don't like feminised Sam/Gene and in this fic they are very masculine and in a believable homosexual relationship between two quite manly men (even if Sam can be a bit light on his loafers at times according to Gene).

Previously, on Power Rangers - I wrote an overview for the first five seasons. For some reason I volunteered to update it for seasons six through eighteen.

And did I mention that starting with season seven, we get an entirely NEW cast EVERY SINGLE SEASON? Yeah, this thing is super image heavy. And probably you don't remember anything after Tommy leaves. (Although he comes back.) But while the later seasons may not have been as popular as the earlier ones, they're still pretty great!

With just such a premise, the hilarity starts to roll as Toren's vocabulary grows in leaps and bounds. Just not in the way Teyla wants it to! As Teyla's exasperation grows and her teammate's efforts to "fix" Torren's swearing don't work, the reader will not be able to stop the belly-rolling laughter from escaping. Liketheriver manages to lace together every parent's nightmare into a hilarious piece of Stargate Atlantis fiction. You'll twitch. You'll chuckle. And you'll fall on the floor in laughter at this funny piece of ficcage.
