Why this must be read: I first read this more than three years ago, and the beauty of the language has stayed with me ever since. It's a character study of Mary, the young diver House and Foreman treated in Season One's "Kids," who has grown up to compete in the 2012 Olympics in London. It's rare to see any story from the point of view of the patient after being cured, and this one combines that with a wonderful outsider's look at Foreman.

Xander/Oz stories are thin on the ground, but I wouldn't tell you to run out and read a fic just because it has a rare pairing. But, oh, you should run out and read this, because it's Xander/Oz done well. Beginning the day after the episode Halloween, this story presents us with a believably teenaged Xander, fumbling his way through new feelings, just as awkwardly and humorously as you would hope for from this character. The writing is entertaining and very much in keeping with the early seasons, and the structure is unusual and interesting.

It's colorful, funny, tender, and simply a delight from start to finish.

When I thought about what to say about this fic one word came immedately to mind: HOT.  Rebecca gives us a great blend of case work, a protective Gibbs, and a submissive Tony.  And of course, a shower inducing bedroom scene

But Tony didn't let go of him. "Boss," he said carefully. "Um."

"You okay, DiNozzo?" Gibbs asked.

"No, not really. Um." Tony looked away. "Or maybe it cleared up a few things." Tony licked his lips. "If you don't want me, tell me, and you can fire me or transfer me and we'll pretend I never made an idiot out of myself and--"

Gibbs kissed him.

Tony blinked at him, dazed, when the kiss ended. "Oh," he said softly. "So I'm not getting fired?"

Why this must be read: Loz is the very first author I ever read for Life on Mars and I still think her work should be a prerequisite to anyone who has an interest in reading or writing in the fandom. This is the very first story I ever placed in my memories when I started my LJ account. What I love about it is that it is a completely real story of how the series could have ended. Before you get into AU's or OTP fics, this is a beautifully written, bittersweet story that is so in tune to the "feel" of the show that I think it could be canon.

The dream world is gone and now he can’t dream. He must be exhausted, to have furnished so much detail for so many months. If only he’d followed that yellow brick road. He’d have come to the end eventually. He knows he’s exhausted. It’s in his bones; the familiar ache, the tight yearning.

Hi, it's Katt (xenokattz) again. I loved the wide, wonderful world of DC so much, I'm here to drive the Smallville van for October. I mentioned before that I'm slightly obsessed with the Supers; Smallville is right up my alley.

I enjoy plottiness, friendship and family in fics. This is not to say that everything I'll post is gen but I prefer plot with a side if shippyness. I'm also massive fan of the Lois/Clark dynamic, the Justice League and Chloe. Now to belie everything I've said about loving gen fics, I'll start the month off with hot, fragrant, buttery pr0n.

Why this must be read:

The fantastic thing between Lois and Clark, no matter who writes them, pros or fans, is their banter. Sparks shoot up in the air when they tease, fight, work, heck when they're sleeping! Lois is the only one who can kick Clark out of the (barn version) Fortress of Solitude and Clark is the only one who can shake Lois out of her emotional anal retentiveness.

Kate takes advantage of this dynamic in this fic set in early season 7. Clark is moping over Lana, Lois is flippant about it all as she plays a video game. Their "fight" spirals into something so unbelievably hot and sexy, you may need ice water close-by.

In fact, I guarantee it.

This is a completed, two-part fanfic featuring the (unfairly) oft-maligned Obi-Wan/Padmé pairing, that combines a fantastic AU concept with a bit of intrigue and mystery and some truly hot sex. This is 'Obidala' the way I like it: tender but rough, angsty but hopeful, and not sickeningly sappy or fluffy in the least. The writing is superb, and gives us an actual plot wrapped around the sex.

And there's a truly wonderful twist near the end, too. Not to be missed.

They respect each other's strengths and acknowledge weaknesses. They're sexy, funny, and genuinely love and are in love with one another and this fic shows every angle of that beautifully. And their bickering? Is not to be missed. It's also 90% ad libbed, in case you didn't know.
