Notes, police reports, interview transcripts, the like. It's a mystery, but one that you're invited to solve for yourself. This fic is also incredibly impressive in its coding and technical aspects. Not you usual fic, but it allows for the reader to fill in the gaps, to try and construct from the evidence presented what, exactly, happened. Fandom: Tour of Duty Characters: Lt Myron Goldman/Lt Johnny McKay Length: 684 Words Author on LJ: dixie_chickenneAuthor Website: Notes From the UndergroundWhy this is a must read: Although it is pretty much accepted that Myron and Zeke are the OTP, the second favorite would go to Myron and Johnny McKay. Johnny is completely different in every way from Zeke. Myron and Johnny together? It's like one is holding the gas can, the other a lit match; they are all spark and flame. This is a cute little PWP by Dixie that does a nice job of catching that with just enough snark between them to make it that much more fun. Excerpt: Johnny sat down on the edge of the cot and Myron heaved an exasperated sigh as he turned his face further into his pillow. Right now, all he wanted was sleep, he really wasn't in the mood to listen to whatever could be troubling McKay. He stiffened when he felt Johnny's cool, slick hands on his shoulders.
"Relax," Johnny said, his voice just above a whisper.

The only things I like more than h/c are old guys stories, so here is one. After 20 years Gunther is out of jail and seeking for revenge. But this time Starsky and Hutch have also their families to protect. I like this idea because Hutch is so real here, that I can buy the story from the first line till the last one. Jenkins had called while Hutch was gone and left a message on his machine. Hutch called the young detective immediately.
"Whatcha got?" he demanded.
"We interrogated the suspects in the hospital," Jenkins said, dispensing with any formalities. "Berber refused to say anything -- kept demanding a lawyer. The other guy, though," and his voice deepened into a self-satisfied chuckle, " is scared out of his wits. Brinkman made sure of that."
Hutch gave a grim grin. "Did he, now? Where did he learn that technique?"
Jenkins chuckled again. "A little extra-curricular tutoring from Lt. Starsky in academy, sir. An after-hours course he only gives to certain promising cadets. Strictly off the record, you understand."

Fandom: Magnificent Seven Pairing: Gen. Nathan, Mary, Ezra Length: 3205 Why this must be read: Once a week Nathan and Mary meet in order to write the 'sick list' for the newspaper. What's less well known however, is that Nathan assits with Mary with the gossip column as well. The story starts out with a flashback to a tea party held during Nathan's childhood. The contrast between that party and the present one with he and Mary really sets the scene. The friendship between the two unlikely allies shines through as does their easy acceptance of Ezra's sudden appearance. The author depicts the friendliness between the three very well and draws a gentle picture of two outsiders becoming aware of their similarities and their place in the local society.
