Why this should be read:

While I still have a little space left as the month draws to a close, I would like to rec a couple stories by authors you may have already seen. crazy_toffee is a brilliant author that can often make me read pairings I would never consider. With it's cast of thousands, you wouldn't think I would be limited but darn it, I like NaruSasu. But the way she writes just reels me in.

In Haven, once Sasuke is returned to Konoha, Naruto is left asking 'what now'? and confused. While in Suna, Gaara has disappeared into the desert. When Temari seeks Naruto's help in finding the Kazekage, he thinks it an easy mission to get away. But finding Gaara only raise more questions. And Gaara is pushing for answers.

Written in a deceptively easy style, Haven is descriptive yet eloquent, bittersweet and decidedly realistic. crazy_toffee's inner dialog with these characters must be amazing as she writes them so fresh and real, I believe she is channeling Kishimoto.

Try out Haven but stick around for some of her other fic as well. No matter the pairing, she is enthralling.

Why this must be read: Because RPS is a rare bird in the S&H fandom, but holy hell, no one imagines it better than Kaye. She lists it as Crack, frequently populates the lives of Paul and Davey with the likes of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie to name but two. And she also manages to make you swallow past a lump in your throat as you giggle helplessly. Never more so than with this delightful piece, which imagines a phone call between the two guys as they prepare to shoot the final episode, ‘Sweet Revenge’.

It's Always Harder on the One Left Behind

Why this must be read: Amnesia fics are a fandom staple, and for good reason. There's something so fascinating about seeing a character stripped to the bare bones of their nature and discovering what makes them tick. This wonderful story by Rivier not only does that, it casts a new light on all the other characters too, especially Sarah Jane and Jack Harkness, who take flirting for information to all new levels of awesomeness. This is one of those stories that does justice to both sources; it's just a fantastic read... why are you still here? Go, go, go.

Why this must be read:

Because this story has it all. Romance, humor, adventure, a small helping of angst and really puts the romance on a believable scale. I really liked meeting Jayne's family. While setting down on Jayne’s home world things go from messed up to screwed up for Jayne, River and the crew of Serenity.
